What is Supported Independent Living? 🏡

Supported Independent Living, commonly known as SIL, is support provided to NDIS participants who need help with everyday tasks while living in their own home or a shared home.

SIL is not simply about finding a place to live. It is about receiving the right support to build independence, maintain routines and feel safe and confident at home.

Depending on the participant’s individual needs and goals, SIL support may include assistance with:

🏠 Daily household tasks
🍽️ Preparing meals
🧺 Cleaning and laundry
🗓️ Developing everyday routines
💊 Personal care and medication support
🤝 Building independence and confidence

Individual Me currently has a vacancy available in a welcoming shared home in Windang for an NDIS participant seeking a stable, supportive and person-centred living environment.

Support is tailored around each participant’s individual goals, routines, preferences and daily support needs, with a focus on building confidence, independence and meaningful community connection.

Suitability will be considered carefully, including support requirements, funding, household routines, personality and compatibility with the current residents.
