What a fantastic way to celebrate Queensland Day at Oakey parkrun!

This morning, 39 parkrunners, walkers and volunteers came together to turn our little corner of Queensland into a sea of maroon. Whether you were chasing a PB, enjoying a walk with friends, volunteering, or simply soaking up the atmosphere, it was another great reminder of what makes our community so special.

👏 A big welcome to our visitors who joined us this morning. We hope you enjoyed your time at Oakey and we’d love to see you back again soon!

Tomorrow we’re celebrating everything that’s great about Queensland… friendly people, country communities, beautiful winter mornings and starting the weekend with a parkrun.

Today we had 40 participants brave what we thought was going to be cold, but turned out nice. Our koala was cuddled into the tree. We had visitors from Brisbane and few first timers. Well done to all.

Another absolutely awesome morning at Oakey parkrun! 💙

We had 31 amazing people join us this morning and the atmosphere was fantastic from start to finish 🙌 From quick times to friendly chats, high fives and encouragement all around the course, this is what parkrun is all about.

Conditions were perfect for getting out and moving, and we saw some brilliant efforts across the board 🔥

A good turn out today on a very cool morning for event #399 at Oakey parkrun (3 degrees, felt like zero) with 40 participants including two very first timers and eight first timers to Oakey.

We welcomed visitors from Geelong, Surat, Toowoomba and Coolum Beach (thanks Robert for volunteering as the tailwalker!).

Four pb’s were recorded by William McRae, Ella Harvey, Keith Contessa and Stephen Robinson, congratulations!

Thank you to the awesome volunteers today for making the event possible: Valma Cahill, Robert Round, Bonnie Wheatley, Belinda Wilson, John Rohl, Kate Pier and Steve Evans.
