WHO WAS ASHERAH? 🌿

The forgotten Mother Goddess of the ancient world...

Or a Goddess whose story has been hidden beneath centuries of religious change?

Long before the religious traditions we know today, the ancient Levant was filled with powerful gods and goddesses.

Among them was Asherah.

She was associated with the Canaanite religious world and with El, the high god of the Canaanite pantheon.

But what happened to her?

Why did a Goddess who appears in ancient inscriptions and religious traditions become so unfamiliar to us today?

It's about releasing everything that was never truly yours to carry.

Women are not machines.

Yet somehow we've built a world of work that expects us to behave like them.

Same energy.
Same focus.
Same productivity.
Same smile.
Every.
Single.
Day.
But what happens when your body says something different?

Day 1.
The ache in my lower back.
The cramps intensifying.
My energy disappearing.
My body saying:
Slow down.
Rest.
Come inward.
And yet I knew that the next day I'd have to put a smile on my face and pretend nothing was happening.

Then Day 3 came.
I was sitting in the office, experiencing heavy bleeding and pain, trying to function as though my body hadn't asked me to stop.

And I thought:
Women, it's time we talk.
Not about how to become better at pushing through.
But about how we can create lives and workplaces that allow us to work with our bodies rather than against them.

Because capability and capacity aren't the same thing.
You can be powerful and still need rest.
You can be ambitious and still have a cycle.
You can be a leader and still have a body.

And maybe sustainable success isn't about learning how to endure more.
Maybe it's about learning when to push, when to create, when to lead, when to complete—
and when to stop.

WESTERN MEDICINE VS ANCIENT HEALING
Can they actually work together?
For so long, we've been told to choose.
Science OR spirituality.
Modern medicine OR ancient wisdom.
Medication OR natural healing.
But what if the better question is:
What does each approach do well?
Western medicine can be extraordinary when we need diagnosis, emergency intervention, surgery and lifesaving treatment.
Ancient healing traditions have spent thousands of years exploring prevention, balance, nutrition, embodiment, stress, community and the relationship between mind and body.
And today, we're seeing fascinating conversations emerge between the two.
As an energy healer, meditation teacher and someone deeply interested in the relationship between ancient wisdom and modern understanding, this is a conversation I find incredibly important.
Because integration doesn't mean believing everything.
It means staying curious.
It means knowing what is supported by evidence—and what is still being explored.
It means respecting the power of modern medicine while also recognising that a human being is more than a diagnosis.
