Do you ever feel constantly frustrated with a partner, in dating or in a relationship, like they "should" be different? Feeling burdened, unappreciated, or not free to be yourself? Attraction gone from exciting to just functional, or fading altogether?

I call this pattern Reverse Polarity, it's when the natural masculine and feminine dynamic flips. I see it constantly in my work, whether people are partnered or dating.

I've just updated my piece on it, "The Signs of Reverse Polarity (and How to Shift It)", how to spot it, what causes it, and what to do about it. Link below in the first comment. ❤

If you've ever wondered what it's actually like to work with me in private sessions - this video gives you a sense of it.

People come for all kinds of reasons. Perhaps you've lost your spark. Or you're looking for love and can't quite find it. Or there are fears and blocks in the way of the connection you're really wanting. This is the work I explore with you, whether you're a couple or coming solo.

I'm heading to Austria for two workshops in a few weeks! And I'd love to work with a few more people before I go. There's still time for one private intensive or several sessions, and I'll be doing some online sessions while I'm away too.

If this speaks to you, now's a good time to reach out.💗

Almost ten years ago, I wrote about three traits I see in every great relationship - intimate and otherwise. I called them the 3 A's: Attraction, Alignment, Authenticity.

When one of these is missing, it just doesn't quite work - often in ways that aren't obvious until you know what to look for.

Which one feels strongest for you right now? Which one's harder to hold onto?

I revisited the article recently and added a little to it — the core of it still holds true. Link in first comment.

He goes quiet and withdraws. She reads it as him losing interest. It's often the opposite.

Menopause isn't just happening to her.

She's dealing with hormonal changes that can make her own body and emotions feel unfamiliar. He's not going through those changes — but he's living at the effect of them, while facing his own aging and questions about vitality and virility at the same time.

I call it the boat and the ocean: she's the ocean, moving through storms and stillness. He's often in a small boat, tossed by waves he didn't create and doesn't fully understand.

The couples who get through this closer, not further apart — it isn't luck. It's what they do differently. I wrote about it — link in the comments 👇

This is simple question but the answers can be complex. In busy lives, with war in the headlines and the world situation in flux, many of us can forget to take the time to truly nourish our intimate relationships.

We can get spread too thin, feel overwhelmed and then need to recharge alone. Or we use substances to relax and reduce the tension in our bodies.

Intimate connections offer nervous system regulation, joy, relaxation and safety. Plus if the relationship is a sexually intimate one, then the pleasure experienced is healing and enlivening.

Prioritising means valuing this as much as your survival, because it is survival. Our relationships are our greatest security. They are a manifestation of the divine, the sacred experience of sharing your soul, and your humanness with another.

Our culture has fostered independence as a great virtue, and it is up to a point. However it can leave us feeling alone, disconnected, burnt out and miserable.

I've been there, putting other things first when it felt like I "had to". Now I look back and think, I actually didn't have to, I could have chosen differently.

Don't wait for perfect relationships, instead nurture the ones you have, put the effort in and let them grow.

Make time to develop new connections too. Let there be laughter and sharing and 'breaking bread' together.

If intimacy was your No 1. priority this week how would it look, what would be different? Comment below if you'd like to share.

Do you ever feel like the growth and the openings you have at events, workshops, sessions or peak experiences fades away?

Cynthia explores this phenomena in her recent blog The Elastic Band Effect (Why You Keep Snapping Back).

If you missed it here is the link:

When you pull out an elastic band it stretches, and when you let go, it snaps back to its original shape. A transformational experience is...
