Happy Early Childhood Educators’ Day! 💛

Today we’re celebrating the incredible educators who bring so much warmth, creativity and care to the children and families we support at Wholechild Specialists.

A very special thank you to Kelly (pictured), Erin (pictured), Belinda, Miranda and Kate for everything you do. From the big milestones to the little everyday wins, you each play such an important role in helping children feel safe, supported, understood and confident to learn and grow.

We are so lucky to have such a beautiful team of educators who bring their own strengths, ideas and genuine passion to their work every day.

Today we’re celebrating one of the many reasons we love what we do.
This incredible little boy drew a picture of a “super fast snail”. This picture represents months of hard work, perseverance and growth.
When he first started with us, drawing and fine motor tasks were really challenging. Through consistent early intervention and the incredible support of our educator, Erin, we’ve watched his confidence grow session by session. Today, he independently put his ideas onto paper and we couldn’t have been prouder.
It’s easy to celebrate the big milestones, but at Wholechild Specialists, it’s these quiet, meaningful moments that fill our hearts the most.
We are so proud of you and feel incredibly lucky to be part of your journey.

Behind every great therapy team is an incredible Allied Health Assistant.

Living in a rural or regional community shouldn’t mean waiting longer or missing out on the support you need.

At Wholechild Specialists, our Allied Health Assistants (AHAs) are an important part of our multidisciplinary team. Working under the guidance of our qualified clinicians, they help deliver therapy programs, support skill development and provide more opportunities for children, teens and adults to practise meaningful skills in everyday life.

For families across the Central West, this means:
- More therapy opportunities
- Reduced wait times for support
- Greater consistency between appointments
- More families accessing the services they need, closer to home

AHAs work across a range of disciplines, including Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology and Psychology, helping us extend the reach of our services without compromising quality of care.

As demand for allied health services continues to grow across the Central West, AHAs are helping us reach more families, reduce barriers to care and ensure more people can access the support they need, when they need it.

Winter School Holiday Survival Guide is here!

Looking for simple ways to keep your child active, regulated and having fun indoors these school holidays?

Our team at Wholechild Specialists has put together some of our favourite movement-based activities that support children’s development while making the most of time at home. These activities encourage children to move their bodies, build confidence and develop important motor, sensory and self-regulation skills through play.

If you’re noticing your child finds movement challenging, seeks lots of sensory input, struggles with motor skills or you’re simply looking for more personalised strategies, our therapists are here to help.

Save this post for the holidays and share it with another parent who might need some inspiration!

Starting school is a big milestone—for children and parents alike.

Our Transition to Kindergarten Program is designed to help children build the confidence, independence and school-readiness skills they need for a positive start to their school journey.

This program may benefit children who:
✔️ Feel anxious about starting school
✔️ Need support with social skills and making friends
✔️ Would benefit from developing confidence and independence
✔️ Need practice with listening, group participation and classroom routines
✔️ Would like extra support with emotional regulation and communication skills

This National Reconciliation Week, we reflect on the role we all play in building stronger relationships and a more connected future for the next generation.

Every child deserves to grow up feeling connected, valued, and proud of who they are. Together, we can help build that future.

Pop the Pig might look like just a fun game — but there’s so much learning happening along the way!

Games like this help children build fine motor skills, hand strength, coordination, social skills and the ability to follow directions — all through play.

Many children don’t realise they’re practising important developmental skills… they just know they’re having fun. And that’s exactly why play is such a powerful part of therapy.
