Erin is a 4th-year Pharmacy student from the University of New England, AU , joining us all the way from Murchison. 📍🌾

We’re proud to continue our partnership with UNE… Erin is the 4th pharmacy student we’ve had the pleasure of hosting over the years! 😯

We love giving students a taste of rural pharmacy and showing how pharmacists can make a real difference in the health of country communities. 💊💜

🧠 As part of her placement, Erin is running a stroke awareness project.

This week she’ll be offering FREE blood pressure checks in the pharmacy. High blood pressure is one of the biggest risk factors for stroke, so why not take a few minutes to know your numbers?

Whatever your morning looks like… Simple teaks can assist you to take your regular medications REGULARLY as prescribed by Doctor or Nurse Practitioner. 🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣

💜 After all… those blood pressure tablets or antidepressants etc only work IF YOU ACTUALLY TAKE THEM!!!

Our recommended approach is called “habit stacking” – linking a new habit (like taking your medicine) with something you already do every day.. 😇💊🤗

✅ If you drink coffee every day, try storing your medications near the kettle to remind you to take it when you have your morning brew. Etc

✅ If you have a steroid asthma inhaler, do this prior to brushing your teeth morning and night.

Small changes can make a big difference to your health. 🌱

“This is me in a field… because I like being in fields.” 🌾🤣

Yep… that was genuinely how I introduced myself to a room full of pharmacists and retail managers in Melbourne today! 😂🙈 Thankfully it got a laugh from the audience! 🤭😅

Fortunately, the presentation improved from there! 😜👍

Today, I was incredibly honoured to be invited to speak 🗣️ at the annual Pharmacy Choice Elevate Pharmacist & Retail Conference down in 📍Melbourne. 💜💊

I shared how we use data 📊 and technology 💻 at Ouyen Pharmacy to make smarter decisions around inventory, reduce waste 📦, and ultimately provide an even better service to our patients and community. 💜

It was my very first time presenting at a conference like this, so I was equal parts excited 🤩 and absolutely terrified 😬🎤😂… but once I got going, I had an absolute ball!

One of my favourite parts of conferences is always the networking. 🤝💬 Catching up with friends, colleagues and meeting passionate people from all over Australia 🇦🇺 who genuinely care about improving healthcare. There is something pretty special about bouncing ideas off one another 💡, challenging the way we think 🤔, and coming home with fresh inspiration to make our own businesses even better.

A huge thank you to the IntelliPharm and Pharmacy Choice teams for the opportunity. 🙏 It was a genuine privilege to share our story from little old Ouyen 🌾, and I can’t wait for the next one! 🚀😊

🍮 New dessert alert… and we may have created a problem… 🤭🍰

We couldn’t resist bringing in a brand new range of Mister Nosh desserts… and after a compulsory (very scientific 🧪 😏) team taste test, it’s safe to say they passed with flying colours! 🙌

The best part? Every single one is gluten free! 🌾🚫

We didn’t tell the team that beforehand… and not a single person picked it! 😉 They are honestly that good.

Our current favourites include:
🍎 Apple & Rhubarb Crumble
🍮 Sticky Date Pudding (team favourite !!!😻)
🍫 Chocolate & Beetroot Cake

You’ll find them in our freezer section, ready to take home for an easy dessert when the sweet tooth strikes. 😋

And while you’re there… don’t overlook our other frozen treats! 🇬🇷💛

Our Greek Loukamades are absolutely incredible in the air fryer. Drizzle them with honey 🍯, add a scoop of ice cream 🍨… and thank us later.

Pharmacist Alex (A1) 👨‍⚕️has already announced he’s planning to raid 🥷 the pharmacy after hours because they’re that tasty… 👀😂 (Don’t worry… he’ll still pay for them!)

We’re constantly bouncing ideas off each other 💭➡️💭, discussing interesting cases 🩺, sharing new research 📚, and learning from each other’s strengths. 🙌

No one knows everything… and we think that’s a good thing! 💡 Having three different perspectives means we’re always asking, “Is there an even better way we can help this patient?” 💜💊

Some days it honestly feels like we’ve got our own little journal club 📖☕😂…

At the end of the day, it’s our patients who benefit most. 💜 Better ideas 💭, better decisions ✅, and better care for our amazing community 🌾🏡.

In partnership with Roche Diagnostics, we're helping bring 🌎 world-class healthcare closer to home, giving our community access to high-quality diagnostic testing with results available in as little as 20 minutes. 🙌

Today, our pharmacists completed training on this cutting-edge technology🤖, and we can't wait to launch this service for our community.

Soon, we'll be able to provide laboratory-quality results in around 20 minutes for:

🦠 Whooping cough (Pertussis)

We'll also soon be offering testing for:

💜 Bittersweet day at Ouyen Pharmacy today… 🥹

Today we officially sent our radiant Danielle off on maternity leave 🤰👶🍼

We are absolutely overjoyed for her and feel so privileged to have shared this exciting chapter of her life with her. 🥰

Over the past three years, Danielle has become such critical part of our team and operations. She’s been with us through immense change🤔, rapid growth📊, and even a renovation/relocation 😯

She has has taken on so many extra responsibilities - including becoming one of our wonderful sleep apnoea consultants 😴💤

To say she’ll be missed is an understatement! 💜

While we’re incredibly excited for the adventures ahead for Danielle and her growing family, we’ll also be quietly mourning the temporary loss of one of our superstar technicians … and wondering who is going to keep us all in line now! 😂

👏 Please join us in wishing Danielle all the very best as she begins this exciting new journey into motherhood. 💐👶💜🥰🍼
