The first flower essence I ever made was red kurrajong.

That was back in 1998, two years after my daughter Mikiah was born.

At the time, I was a naturopathic student, studying flower essence therapy. A friend of my mothers, Mhyrlyn (from a Welsh-Australian gypsy family) came to Darwin, took me out to Charles Darwin national park and taught me how to make a flower essence using what she called the “psychic method” - otherwise known as the “no pick” method.

Since then I’ve made close to 100 essences, mostly from Top End and Central Desert country.

Kurrajong is what I use in healings and herbal blends when I’m helping a client be determined, focused and patient.

It’s excellent, for example, when you don’t like the job you’re in - sure, you have an exit plan, but for strategic reasons you have to stay put for now. Kurrajong stops you from losing your s**t, spitting the dummy and quitting on a whim. It helps you play the long game.

Kurrajong also helps with boundaries and “staying in your lane”… ie knowing what is your responsibility and what isn’t! This, in and of itself, can do wonders when it comes to reducing work stress.

I also use it when clients are going through legal battles because it helps them stay calm, and not get overwhelmed. It’s one of those essences that helps you see what matters and what doesn’t not, so you can focus on priorities and let go of the rest.

I wonder who my first flower spirit teacher will be on this trek?

On the road again!

With our off-grid travelling mates, Nigel and Denise. We did my 40th at Bungles, my 50th at Kings Canyon. Nigel’s turn.

I’ve packed a flow toy, juggling balls, flower-drawing art supplies, camera, cards and dice, a peculiar musical instrument I’m learning to play, and (of course) my flower essence making kit.

This is a wildflower spirit journey for me, and will expand my already rather-large collection of Australian wildflower essences, for the clinic… I use them in healings, and prescribe them in consults.

I’m in the midst of my 2026 “long service leave”…

…celebrating 30 years of practise and 35 years of love with my teenage sweetheart 💕

It began with a month in Brisbane.

We stayed with my sister to support her through the birth of her first child and welcome little Navaya into the world.

Amazing to see my little sister pregnant, and then nursing a baby. I’m very proud of her and her partner Joel because they diligently upped their game with health and self-care to prepare for this pregnancy, and they conceived naturally (my sister is 43). I helped a little of course, with some beautiful womb, o***y and hormone herbs.

We also enjoyed time with our daughter Mikiah and her partner Zephyr (my personal trainer), and celebrated the birthing of her first book!

And it was heart-warming to catch up with my cousin Renata and her marathon-running partner Shaun, and my graduate apprentice Kristel.

We came back to Darwin three weeks ago and I hit the ground running with client consults and
launching this years student clinic program….

Tomorrow we will be driving off west with our dear old friends Nigel and Denise, for three weeks on the Gibb River Rd.

The three weeks we were back went by very fast, celebrating Nigel’s 60th, and catching up with interstate visitors.

I’m sad I didnt get enough time with my favourite local family and friends… Gail and Colin, Shae and Kate, Dannie and Adrian, Paige, and Jenni.

I miss you already!!! Be ready for me to flood you with love and epic Gibb stories on the rebound 💕

I’ve had this idea for a long time but haven’t felt quite ready.

I think we can potentially showcase one good cause per month, and occasionally use an approach that celebrates and gives back to people who might not be able to afford a healing, and yet they are volunteering time and energy to their community, to a charity or a good cause, and our healing can be a thank you.

Potentially, we could extend this to carers who are looking after family too.

So!

If you have trained with me in the past, and you love the idea of co-delivering healing with me in ways that support our beautiful planet and community, please reach out 💕

It would be a lovely heart-centred way to reconnect, celebrate you, and share your skills and story with community.

My lovely friend, fellow herbalist and healer Shayote, invited me to this special event coming up... but I'll be on the Gibb River Road with my husband and friends!

So I thought I might share this with you, in case it resonates.

Shay and I first connected when she studied Reiki mastery with me many years ago, and we've become good friends since then. I love her kindness, humility, and authenticity... and we just have so much in common! A love for nature, plants, flower essences... a career that spans many decades, and still being with the love of our life after many decades.

Shayote is a beautiful, wise facilitator with a glorious gift for creating ritual spaces and ceremonies that have depth and grace. I LOVE her so much! If I was here, I'd gift this event to myself as an early birthday present.

‘This has been the best night, I feel so much more connected to myself, received insight and now have the confidence I need to begin my journey forwards.’

‘I didn’t realise how many other women felt the same, being able to share my thoughts and simply be heard is so healing, I can’t wait until the next one’

The next apprentice I'd like you to meet is Jacob, who is in classes with Lisa and Sonia (who I've already introduced).

Jacob came into the apprenticeship with a lot of dynamic raw power, brimming with natural talent, much of which has been inherited. It’s been an honour to mentor Jacob in my apprenticeship program over the past year or so, and to feel as though I am contributing to the continued legacy of healing light and lore in his family line.

It’s been a delight to watch Jacob develop the self-command and restraint needed to harness his healing energy and direct it with greater finesse. This has deepened his capacity for space-holding and enhanced the observational skills we healers use when attuning our awareness to client needs. It will also help him preserve his batteries and pace himself, thus preventing burnout and role modelling good self-care in a “walk-your-talk” kind of way for his future clientele, and (I hope), future healing students/descendants.

As a mentor, when the time is right, I often find myself on the table receiving healing from my apprentices, and I have now received two profound healings from Jacob. In both instances, Jacob ensured that I felt safe and was able to self-regulate when distressing emotions or memories emerged for me. He was very gentle, kind and patient. His natural psychic healing gift combined with the more nuanced psychological and somatic regulation work I’ve been teaching him can make for an extremely powerful, life-changing healing. Each time, I have come off the healing table feeling thoroughly transformed.

Jacob has guided me in connection with my inner child, helping me listen mindfully, with detached compassion, to my body and breath, and to the images and feelings rising up from my subconscious. Having learned to use my shamanic Gaian Healing modality to co-create the healing journey with the spirit of Nature and the client themselves, Jacob reconnected me with places, memories and beautiful sources of emotional and spiritual support, so that I am more able to be my own healer. This, I think, is what every good healer should be able to do.

During the last healing I received from Jacob, he gently and kindly offered a succinct interpretation of the inner world experience I was having, I had a physical jolt of revelation and surprise at how accurate his insights were. It takes a lot of skill to unpack the metaphors that came up during healing and ground them into the reality of the client’s lived experience. Jacob did this beautifully, in a way that linked the healing journey with what was happening for me in my life on a psychological, emotional level. It was masterfully done, and in that moment, the student most definitely became the teacher.

STUDENT CLINIC AVAILABILITY

Jacob is learning how to deliver an organic blend of Somatic Aura Therapy, Gaian Healing and the Deep Aura Cleanse, for those of you who are familiar with my different consult types.

We have space in this Thursday's 5pm apprenticeship class, where you pay a donation (it goes to the students), and you can ask for Jacob to be the lead healer, with Lisa and Sonia supporting and myself supervising and guiding...

Or you can enquire about a private consult with Jacob and I co-delivering a healing for you. We have space this Wednesday and Thursday, and from September onwards. Our special student clinic price for 60min will be $132, and for 90min it's $198.
