I used to let a number on the scale decide if I was allowed to feel good that day.
On stage, it wasn’t just a number. It was my identity. Up 0.4kg and I felt like I’d failed. Down 0.4kg and suddenly I was “worth it.”
I didn’t fix that by weighing less. I fixed it by weighing myself less, and building other proof instead: energy, strength, how my clothes actually fit.
One bad day, one bad weigh-in, was never ruining everything. It just felt like it at the time.
Now I coach women through the exact same thing, without ever stepping on a stage. The scale is data. Not a verdict.
