This certificate is a love story.”
There was a time when I thought I was losing my best friend.
Toby became seriously ill, and I was terrified.
I didn’t know what he needed from me. I didn’t know how to understand him as he grew older, or how to support him through the health challenges we were facing together.
Like so many people who love an ageing animal, I wanted to fix everything.
Instead, I was carrying overwhelming anxiety and fear.
When the opportunity came to study Animal Communication through Equine Partnered Academy, every part of my being said yes.
Looking back now, I realize that yes wasn’t just to a course.
It was a yes to a completely different way of seeing the world.
One of my first big aha moments was when I realized that I was projecting all my fears onto Toby.
That changed everything!
Animals are sensitive beings. They feel us. They mirror us. They dont just hear our words, they feel our energy, our emotions and our presence.
As I became calmer, more present and more willing to truly listen, our relationship deepened in ways I never imagined.
This work transformed far more than my relationship with Toby.
It transformed my relationship with myself.
It expanded the way I hold space for others.
It rippled out into every part of my life.
Why did I chose this path?
The truth is…
I didn’t choose it for a qualification.
I didn’t choose it for a career.
I chose it because I loved one little dog so much that I wanted to understand him better and give him the best life I could.
Everything else grew from there. What I gained from it was more than I ever imagined.
I hold this certificate with a heart full of gratitude.
I’ve never been prouder to receive anything.
But when I look at it…
I don’t see a qualification.
I see Toby.
I see every difficult day.
Every breakthrough.
Every quiet conversation.
Every walk.
Every moment he looked back to make sure I was still there.
This is the deepest work I’ve ever done and I truly believe Toby wouldn’t still be here with me, if it wasn’t for this journey.
The next part of our story is going to be the hardest. The fear still arises but this work has taught me to meet Toby where he is…in the now…with love, patience and presence.
My why has never changed.
It was always for Toby ❤️🐶✨
To my incredible EPA teachers/mentors and the EPA women and horses I’ve shared this journey with….thank you for walking beside me.
