Today marks the start of National Carers Week 2026. This year’s theme, ‘Care for a carer: Making carers visible’, encourages us to recognise, support and care for the carers in our families, workplaces and communities.

Across Western Australia, we are recognising the estimated 320,000 people who provide unpaid care and support to a family member or friend. Carers come from all walks of life, and every caring role is different. This week, we will share information, stories and support to help make carers more visible.
