Time to start Advocating for private practice allied health clinics to be included in provide therapy services through Thriving Kids
I am reaching out today with significant concerns with the NDIS changes but most specifically the development of Thriving Kids in NSW.
Already in NSW, we have a highly skilled, caring, female empowered work force with local knowledge who can provide allied health therapy to this cohort of low to moderate needs children who have Autism/ neurodiversity or developmental delay.
Thriving Kids unfortunately will be thieving our kids of the most important early intervention if allied health private practitioners are not easily and readily included.
I know that our private practices can, because we have been! Since the rollout of FaHCSIA over 15 years ago and NDIS over 12 years ago, private allied health practices have been flexible and have pivoted to every local and federal government update and change. We are registered and have to meet yearly professional development requirements from AHPRA, Medicare and our own association. These safeguards are already in place as well as financial safeguards from the ATO.
Private clinicians are actually cost effective as we need to remain competitive, there is less red tape, employment is efficient and effective.
Most importantly we are already in place. We have been building our skills for the past 12 years with NDIS and many clinics including Hopalong years prior.
What else should we add?
