If you feel like you have overindulged this holiday season and are looking to get back on track with healthy eating, here are some foods you can add to your plate that are not only delicious, and nutritious, but will also help boost your metabolism.

𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗩𝗲𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀: Valued for their nutrients and low calories, organic vegetables are preferred in to avoid synthetic chemicals, which can disrupt body energy and impede weight loss.

𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘁 (𝗕𝗲𝗲𝗳, 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻, 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘆, 𝗛𝗮𝗺): Lean meats provide essential proteins for muscle repair and metabolism, aiding in weight management when consumed in moderation.

𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 (𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗮, 𝗢𝗮𝘁𝘀): These grains supply complex carbohydrates for sustained energy and digestive health. Oats, for example, have beta-glucan, a fiber that enhances satiety and stabilizes blood sugar.

𝗬𝗮𝗺𝘀, 𝗣𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗸𝗶𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀: Rich in fibre and nutrients, these foods support digestive health. Yams are particularly valued for their spleen-supporting properties, crucial for digestion.

𝗙𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀 (𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗖𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘁, 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝗙𝗶𝗴𝘀, 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗲𝘀): This group provides vitamins and antioxidants. Fruits like cherries and grapes cleanse the liver and improve blood flow, while shiitake mushrooms boost immunity and aid digestion.

𝗙𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝘂𝘁𝘀: This pairing stabilizes blood sugar levels by combining the quick-release energy of fruit sugars with the protein and fat from nuts, embodying the TCM principle of Yin and Yang balance.

These recommendations aim to optimize metabolism, digestive health, and energy balance, essential for effective weight loss and maintaining a healthy diet.
