💜 It’s National Carers Week and what a wonderful day we had celebrating the amazing carers in our community! 💜

Community Junction Inc.’s Carers Pamper & Wellbeing Morning, hosted by Colyton Neighbourhood Centre, was a fantastic opportunity to come together and celebrate the amazing people who dedicate so much of their time and energy to caring for others.

Mayor Todd Carney officially opened the day, recognising and highlighting the vital role carers play in our community. There was a range of fitness, relaxation and wellbeing activities, including a sing-along with Lisa Finn Powell our Health Promotions Officer.

The carers were treated to some well-deserved pampering through facials, hand massages, nail painting and hair styling and more. They also had the opportunity to connect with local support services, and take home some helpful resources, information and goody bags.

A big shout out to the lovely and talented Year 12 Hospitality Students from Colyton High School, who catered the event with delicious food and fancy drinks. We were all so impressed with their skills!

Penrith Women’s Health Centre was honoured to be part of the day. To all the carers out there, we see you! Every carer deserves to feel seen, valued and appreciated.

Women’s Health NSW thanks the NSW Government for recognising the essential role community women’s health centres play in improving women’s health and wellbeing with this increase to our core funding spread across four years. This Women’s Health Week we encourage you to take the small step of writing to your local member to tell them women’s health centres need ongoing, secure funding at a sustainable level.

Today is International Day of Peace! The theme for 2026, Invest in Peace - For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day is a strong reminder of how all of us can do something, no matter how small, to build peace in our communities.

What small action will you take today to contribute to a more peaceful world?

Day 5 of Women's Health Week is to connect 🤝

On the final day of Women's Health Week, we're celebrating the power of human connection in all its forms – the voice message to a friend, the community group you've been meaning to try or the coffee with a neighbour.

Social connection has lasting impacts on our health – helping you live longer, build resilience and feel more confident. And yet, for many of us, it often quietly falls to the bottom of the list.

Today we're exploring what real, healthy connection looks like and how to nurture it, even when you're short on time or energy. Whether you've been feeling isolated or you want to help others feel less alone, today is for you.

This World Su***de Prevention Day, we're thinking of all those affected by su***de.

This year’s theme, 'Changing the Narrative on Su***de', reminds us that the way we talk about su***de matters. When we replace silence with connection, stigma with understanding, and fear with compassion, we create space for people to feel heard and supported.

Today and any day, you can be there for those struggling, those living with loss, and those supporting others. A simple check‑in can be the start of a life‑changing conversation.

If you're going through a difficult time and need support, we encourage you to contact Lifeline on 13 11 14.

Day 4 of Women's Health Week is to breathe 💭

Your mental health is just as important as your physical health.

It can be hard to recognise when you're struggling, overwhelmed or feeling disconnected from yourself.

Today is about acknowledging those experiences without judgement. Mental health deserves attention and care, just like your physical health.

We'll explore practical steps to support your wellbeing, plus guidance on when it might be time to speak to a health professional and how to start that conversation.

Day 3 of Women's Health Week is to rest 😴

Good sleep is one of the most powerful things you can do for your health – and for many women, one of the most difficult to achieve.

But rest goes beyond sleep. It's the moments where you give yourself permission to stop – to lie down, switch off, step outside or simply not be productive for 5 minutes.

Today we're exploring what it looks like to prioritise rest – what's normal with sleep, what's not, when to check in with your doctor, and practical ways to wind down.

Because rest isn't self-indulgent. It's how your body repairs, resets and keeps going.

Day 2 of Women's Health Week is to move 🏃‍♀️

Being active is not just for people who love the gym. It's for everyone – in all bodies, at all life stages and in whatever form fits your day.

Exercise doesn't have to be intense or structured to make a difference. Regular movement built into everyday life has real benefits for your physical health, mental wellbeing and energy levels.

We know the barriers all too well – time, energy, cost, pain, caring responsibilities and self-doubt. And for women living with disability or chronic illness, being active might come with additional challenges. Today is for all of you.
