EXCITING NEWS!
We are so excited to announce a BRAND NEW holiday program coming to Playful Stages OT in January 2027!
For the very first time, we are partnering with Creative Therapy Sydney (CTS) to bring together the creativity of musical theatre and the therapeutic benefits of occupational therapy!
This unique program will be delivered collaboratively by occupational therapists, a music therapist, a drama therapist, a musical director and our allied health assistant. We will come together to create a fun, supportive and inclusive environment where children can develop important life skills through music, movement, drama and play.
While the children will be having lots of fun, there will be a strong therapeutic focus behind everything we do!
🌟 Social skills – building friendships, taking turns, communicating and working collaboratively with others.
🌟 Confidence and self-esteem – encouraging children to step outside their comfort zones, try new things and celebrate their achievements.
🌟 Breath work and emotional regulation – exploring breathing, body awareness and strategies to support regulation.
🌟 Motor planning, rhythm and coordination – developing movement skills, timing, sequencing and body awareness through music and dance.
🌟 Creativity and self-expression – providing opportunities for children to express themselves in different ways.
🌟 Teamwork and participation – learning to listen, cooperate, problem-solve and contribute to a shared goal.
This isn’t simply a musical theatre holiday program. It is a therapeutically designed group where activities will be carefully selected and adapted to support children’s individual needs.
Once our groups are formed, we will establish specific therapeutic goals based on the children attending, ensuring the program is meaningful and relevant to their individual OT treatment goals.
🎶 Two age-based groups will be offered:
Younger Kids Group
Kindy to Year 2
9:00am – 11:00am
Older Kids Group
Year 3+
12:00pm – 4:00pm
📅 January 2027 – 25, 27, 28 & 29 January (the 26th is a public holiday)
We are incredibly excited about this collaboration and the opportunity to offer something a little different to our Playful Stages families.
No musical theatre experience is necessary! Just a willingness to come along, participate at your own pace and have fun!
