🤍 HOW TO STORE & PACK YOUR PLACENTA 🤍
for Safe Encapsulation Collection.
✨ STEP 1
Ask your healthcare provider to keep your placenta after birth and to please cut the umbilical cord long to the placenta.
✨ STEP 2
Following birth, ask your provider to:
• Place the placenta into a double bag
• Securely seal both bags
• Label the outer bag clearly
✨ STEP 3
Have the double bagged placenta placed into a sealed container that is also clearly labelled.
Please complete any necessary hospital consent forms for Sarah from The Placenta Co to collect your placenta, and tape a copy of the form securely to the container.
✨ STEP 4
Ensure the placenta is placed:
• Into a fridge, OR
• Onto ice / ice bricks in an esky or cooler bag (We also sell and ship transport kits for Homebirth or hospitals that don’t routinely keep placentas or have fridges.)
This should occur within 4 hours of birth.
If collection will not occur within 48 hours, the placenta should be transferred to the freezer.
✨ STEP 5
Please keep The Placenta Co updated via SMS on 0408 850 923:
• During labour with any important updates
• Again once your placenta is ready for collection
Thank you for helping us ensure your placenta remains safely preserved and suitable for encapsulation 🤍
