Progress in the appearance of fragile, bruise-prone skin 🤍

This client presented with actinic (senile) purpura, with a history of significant bruising, skin fragility and recurrent skin tears over approximately seven years.

Following consultation with , an individual treatment plan was developed incorporating LED Therapy, Hollywood Laser Dermal Remodelling and a restorative home skincare routine.

These progress images were taken four months after completion of the final treatment and show the appearance of the skin at that follow-up.

Treatment plans are individualised following consultation and assessment.

What actually happens during microneedling?

Medical skin needling uses a specialised device to create controlled microchannels in the skin, with treatment depth and settings tailored to your individual skin and concerns.

At MedAesthetics, we use Dermapen 4 medical skin needling to create controlled microchannels within the skin.

So why do we use it?

✨ It stimulates the skin’s natural repair response
Those controlled microchannels trigger fibroblast activity involved in the production of collagen and elastin - which is why skin needling may be considered for concerns such as uneven texture, enlarged pores, fine lines and the appearance of acne scarring.

✨ We can customise the treatment depth
Dermapen 4 allows the needle depth and settings to be adjusted depending on the area being treated, your skin and your individual concerns. This gives us much more control than a standard at-home dermal roller.

✨ Those microchannels can also improve product delivery
While the channels are temporarily open, selected professional serums can be applied to help deliver ingredients beyond the surface of the skin. What we use will depend on your skin and treatment plan.

✨ It can also be combined with other treatments
Depending on your concerns, skin needling may form part of a wider skin plan alongside treatments such as LED therapy, laser or light-based treatments, or other in-clinic skin therapies. We currently include LED Healite with our skin needling treatments.

The important part? We don’t use the exact same treatment on everyone.

Your skin, medical history, concerns and downtime preferences are assessed first so we can determine the appropriate depth, number of sessions and whether microneedling is actually the right option for you.

We’re so excited to welcome Registered Cosmetic Nurse Adinda back to MedAesthetics after maternity leave.

This boss mama is back at our Hay St, Subiaco clinic and ready to catch up with all of her regulars, meet some new faces, and help clients feel their best with comprehensive full face and neck consultations.

Adinda offers a wide range of treatments, but she is an absolute go-to for Pico laser, cosmetic injectables, skin needling and PDO threads.

Have you heard of CoolSculpting? CoolSculpting uses a process known as cryolipolysis, which uses controlled cooling to target localised fat cells in selected treatment areas.
