There’s something especially beautiful about the smiles we see every day at Maurice Zeffert Home as our residents bake, sing, celebrate, create, connect and live life with meaning. But today, we want to shine a light on another set of faces… the ones behind the scenes.

Every moment of joy you see at MZH is made possible by an extraordinary team of people who pour their hearts into this home. From the kitchen to the boardroom, from our dedicated nurses and carers to maintenance, lifestyle, admin, volunteers and everyone in between, it truly takes a village to run Maurice Zeffert Home.

And what a village it is.

We are so proud of our wonderful staff: compassionate, skilled, committed and deeply connected to the people they care for. They show up every day with kindness, patience and love, ensuring our precious residents feel safe, supported and cherished.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be introducing you to the incredible humans who make MZH the warm, vibrant, meaningful home our community knows and loves. Stay tuned, you’re going to adore them.

On Yom Hazikaron, our residents wrote prayers for the kotel. Today, I was honoured to be able to take their prayers and personally place them in the wall with together with my own prayers for love, health and peace for Israel, the Jewish people and the world.

What a week it has been! We’ve had the Carmel Chesed Club kids visit, we visited Little Legends, we had Barbie Q & friends come to perform, we went on a bus trip to Lavender Farm and this morning, we wound up the action with our weekly challah bake.

Shabbat Shalom! May you have a wonderful, peaceful Shabbat.

A little note from us 🤍
We happen to have two Low Care rooms available at the moment, and thought we’d share it quietly in case it reaches someone in our community who’s been softly wondering what comes next.
As the only Jewish aged care home, there’s something special about being surrounded by familiar traditions, language, and a shared sense of belonging. It’s a place where people can stay independent, while feeling deeply connected to culture, community and each other.
Life here is vibrant and warm: delicious kosher food, friendly faces and the comfort of knowing there’s always someone nearby who truly understands.
If it feels like the right time to explore this for someone you love, we’re always here for a gentle conversation. No pressure at all — just support, whenever you’re ready.
Conditions apply. Subject to eligibility and availability.

Just a little note from us to our community. We currently have two Low Care rooms available and we wanted to share it with you in case it helps someone who’s been quietly thinking about “what comes next” for themselves or a loved one.

Low Care at MZH has such a warm, homely feel. It’s a space where people can stay independent, but never feel alone. Day‑to‑day life includes:

• Comfortable, cosy rooms
• Tasty kosher meals that feel like home
• Plenty of social connection and activities
• Kind, familiar staff around 24/7
• Support that gently fits around each person’s needs

But honestly, the real heart of it is the sense of belonging, being surrounded by community, tradition and people who genuinely care.

If someone in your family might benefit from this kind of environment, we’re always here for a friendly chat. No pressure, no rush, just information and support whenever you’re ready.

Reach out anytime if you’d like to talk about the current vacancies. We’re here to help in any way we can.

Conditions apply. Eligibility and admission criteria apply subject to assessment and availability.

What a truly special Thursday we shared together!

Our hearts were filled with joy as the Year One Carmel kids came to sing songs about the Torah and brought beautiful fruit for bikkurim. Their innocence and enthusiasm lit up the room, and our residents delighted in every moment of their wonderful concert. 🎶🍇🎶🍎🎶🍊

Later in the day, our residents gathered for our cherished weekly ritual of plaiting challah for Shabbat. As always, it was a joyous activity that had hands busy, voices singing and spirits lifted.

We also enjoyed a beautiful piano concert and sing‑a‑long with Noah, and even ventured out together on a bus trip, adding adventure to an already full and joyful day.

Everything we did today wove a golden thread between generations and through our history, reminding us that we are truly one connected community, bound together by our values, traditions and culture.

Chag Shavuot Sameach from all of us at Maurice Zeffert Home!
