M I A

I have been a little (or alot?) MIA recently on here... for numerous of reasons. Mostly because well, life with 4 young children is pretty HECTIC 😅

I have also been spending alot of time lately reassessing where I want to move forward in my life and career. And who I am all over again. Every single baby has allowed me to evolve as a person as with its struggles and this time has been no different.

I have lived and breathed birth for the past 4-5 years. Indies VBAC, my doula studies, my own pregnancies and the final chapter ~ Oliver's birth.

But, as life goes in its ebbs and flows... I feel right now that I need to step away from birth and focus all of my energy to our business that has really lacked any of my focus for the past 2 years.

Running our family business with my whole heart is where I want to be 🤎 for myself, my husband and our children.

I've been trying to decide whether to continue with this account or not as I will be coming and going. And it won't be solely focused on birth anymore but more so just our family life.

Still I will always be obsessed with birth so if anyone ever needs to reach out for advice or a listening ear please please DM me!

Let's see what the Lady Tradie Painter life has instore for me! 🤣

“Don't underestimate the power of a carefully chosen birth team. Choosing the right people that you connect with, that can hold space for you, support you, love you and empower you throughout your birthing journey is so very important. Please don't skim over this part of your birth plan. Your birth team can be detrimental to the way you bring your baby earth side.”

“I like using the term “nursing” sometimes instead of “breastfeeding,” because sometimes it’s not about hunger.

Sometimes, it’s about baby wanting to cuddle with you, smell your sweet scent, and cozy up to your warmth.

Sometimes it’s about feeling lonely or scared, and mouth to breast provides connection.

Sometimes it’s about the pain of teething, or needing antibodies to get over a cold.

So remember, you are so much more than a food source - so. much. more."

The first feed.

The first latch.

The first connection.

It was more than the golden hour.

It was days.

Of skin to skin.

Setting the stage for a life time ahead.

This is home birth ♡

✨️ World Breastfeeding Week

I always felt like I wasn't really apart of this week every year.

I never really breastfed the twins and pumped exclusively for the first 3 weeks before switching to formula.

I breastfed Indie for 3 weeks and switched to formula again because I thought my supply was too low. I know now it was just lack of education and support.

Ollie has been a completely different journey. I made sure I educated myself during pregnancy on what to expect in the first few days and weeks of feeding and I made sure I had postpartum support so I could dedicated my time to feeding.

It hasn't been an easy 8.5 month's. There's been so many days where I wondered how much longer I'd feed for, I've been absolutely exhausted from all night feeds, touched out from having a little human on me all day and night. But it has also been the most amazing gift 🤎

I am so proud that we have both come this far 🥰 and it will be something I will be forever grateful for and will remember for a life time.

I also just want to remind any Mummas out there that just because you couldn't feed one baby, doesn't mean you can't feed in the future. Adequate support and education can go a long way and its okay to find it hard, absolutely exhausting and it's also okay to end it when you feel you need to 🤍

✨The emergence of your baby is the most SACRED moment you will ever experience with them ✨

You've called your baby forth,

You've danced together through space and time journeying to other realms to bring your child earthside. 🌎

And now, the fruits of your labour
✨ The emergence ✨
Your baby is here!
Soak up the euphoria of this divine moment ❤️

Sister, this is the medicine of our times.

You were made for this moment.
Your baby was made for this moment.

Their lifelong wellbeing,
Mentally, physically and spiritually is imprinted in this moment ✨

Your love is clarified in this moment ✨

The foundation of your relationship is forged in this moment ✨

A baby's first human contact earthside.
Let that ring in your ears a moment:
Their *very first* experience of another being 🙏🏾

Words cannot capture the weight of this moment.
Of all it incapsulates
Of the magnitude of its ripples.

We must defend this moment,
do all we can to protect it.

Women,
What an honour it is to experience the emergence of a child through our bodies 🌀

In the FULLNESS of the sensation

In the fullness of your SOBER awareness

In a sacred, TRULY SAFE space

In our divine power as the CREATRIX

Sister, how was this moment for you, the moment your baby emerged and you held them? And for your baby? Holding space for all experiences in the comments ❤️

The washing can wait.

Take the time to soak in their littleness.

Their tiny fingers and chubby toes.

The delicious baby smell on the tip of their head.

Their sounds and first words.

Take it all in Mumma.

The washing will still be there tomorrow 🤍
