From a young teen, I loved listening to others and finding nuggets of wisdom in our conversations, themes to reflect back, highlighting parts they were hiding or dismissing, igniting ideas…

And as I grew, I created a business doing so. After coaching, I studied and became a psychologist and enjoyed this work for so long, it is such a true privilege to me to hold people, especially during their most vulnerable times. This work also changed me as a person, I was evolving along side of it. Over the last couple of years something started feeling ‘off’, I questioned for so long whether I wanted to remain in the field, even though I’d built an entire business around it. I wanted more LIFE, more LIGHT. I found in being a psychologist that I was doing a lot of deep trauma work, not necessarily because I chose to, but because I was open to, and trauma work became a response to a demand. That demand took me away from creating and building, because I was in the trenches supporting others in pure survival. There is such importance and reverence in this work, however, I recognise for me, I also need to create and ignite. We cannot spend all our time analysing our problems, we must spend more time creating the life we wish to walk towards and unfurling the blocks along the way. It has only dawned on me that I can now choose what life I want to be creating too, and in the way I hold others. I had creating false limits around the way I serve others, I thought I had to discard my work because trauma work no longer fit where I was at. I thought this work was only for ‘coaches’ and that ‘enough of it existed’, my goodness what a load of bullocks I was feeding myself.

This is my season for holding those who have undergone deep work already, and are ready to create and build their dream life again. I’m unsure how this looks in terms of modalities, I’m just sharing my inner process as I move through it.

What if by changing your self concepts, you could create anew?

The existential woes 🌿

Sometimes, nothing is particularly wrong… and yet something doesn’t feel quite right.

You can have a good life, people you love, a home, a career — and still find yourself quietly wondering
Is this really it?

Who am I underneath all the roles I play?
What am I actually here for?
Why does achieving the things I thought would make me happy sometimes leave me wanting something more?
What happens when the life I built no longer feels like it fits?

These are the existential questions — the ones that tend to surface when we slow down enough to actually listen to ourselves.

And sometimes they arrive during big transitions: becoming a parent, relationships changing, grief, burnout, ageing, a career shift, a spiritual awakening, or simply reaching a point where the old version of you no longer feels like home.

I think we can be very quick to pathologise these experiences.

To ask, “How do we make this feeling go away?”
But perhaps some discomfort isn’t something to fix.
Perhaps it is an invitation.
An invitation to become curious about what your life is asking of you now.

Holistic psychology makes space for these deeper questions. It recognises that we are not just thoughts and behaviours to be analysed or symptoms to be managed. We are whole people — with bodies, emotions, relationships, values, stories, intuition, meaning and, for some, spirituality.

Sometimes healing isn’t about getting back to who you were.
Sometimes it’s about meeting who you are becoming.
And perhaps the existential wobble you’re experiencing isn’t a sign that you’re broken.

Perhaps it’s a sign that something within you is ready for a more authentic life. 🤍

If you’re feeling drawn to explore the deeper layers of yourself, holistic psychology can offer a space to slow down, get curious and listen to what’s underneath the surface. We’d love to support you.

My life has opened up a lot since pausing my 1:1s. It felt harder than ever to do, AND it came with so much freedom and space for the ‘new’ me.

It’s reminder me that when inspiration lands, that’s not random.
When an idea keeps returning, that’s not coincidence.
When your heart keeps pulling you in a direction, that’s your invitation.

The Universe (or whatever your version is) doesn’t call everyone to the same path. It whispers to each of us differently.

Your only job is to listen.
Follow what excites you.
Follow what expands you.
Follow the nudge that makes no logical sense but feels undeniably true.

Your soul knows before your mind catches up.
The more you honour those sacred nudges, the more life opens in ways you could never have planned.

Where is life opening up for you in ways you could never of planned? I’m currently learning Italian, studying Indian head massage, and have just started my third month oil painting 🤍🙏🌙

Many people ask us what makes holistic psychology and psychotherapy different from traditional or clinical psychology.

The answer isn’t that one is better than the other—it’s that they begin with different questions.

Traditional and clinical psychology often ask:”What symptoms are present, and how can we reduce them?”

Those approaches are incredibly valuable and can be life-changing. They provide important assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment that supports many people on their healing journey.

Our work begins with another question:

“What is your mind, body, and soul asking you to pay attention to?”

We believe symptoms are not simply problems to eliminate. Sometimes they are signals. Invitations. Messengers pointing toward parts of ourselves that have been unheard, unseen, or carrying burdens for far too long.

Anxiety, burnout, relationship struggles, chronic stress, grief, or a deep sense that something isn’t quite right may not mean you’re “broken.” They can be invitations to pause and explore what your inner world has been trying to communicate.

We don’t see healing as simply returning to who you were before life became difficult.
We see healing as becoming more deeply who you truly are.

Our approach is trauma-informed, evidence-informed, and whole-person. We explore not only your thoughts and behaviours, but also your nervous system, emotional patterns, relationships, physical wellbeing, personal history, values, and—for those who wish to explore it—the spiritual dimension of healing.

For many people, there comes a season that feels like everything familiar is falling away.
Some describe this as burnout.
Others call it anxiety or depression.
Some experience it as a dark night of the soul—a period where old identities, beliefs, and ways of living no longer fit, yet what comes next hasn’t fully emerged.

While these experiences can be deeply painful, they can also become powerful turning points. With the right support, they can open the door to greater authenticity, self-awareness, and a life that feels more aligned with who you are becoming.

We’d love to support you if this way of being aligns with you 🤍🙏

This little sentence found me this week. We’ve had three nights of no sleep with a sick bub,
Feeling like I needed the house spotless and to ‘keep up’ with ‘all the things’ I found the mantra I needed “let it bend”.

I often think of frozen and ‘let it go’ but it feels directly opposite when control hits. Language is everything, and my ego could actually listen to this one as it didn’t feel impossible.

Flexibility over rigidity,
🤍🙏

As a therapist, my heart sometimes feels sorrow about the privilege of supporting another human,

Skills like:
understanding emotions
navigating conflict
setting boundaries
tolerating uncertainty
repairing relationships
grieving loss
asking for help
making sense of identity

These aren’t really “mental health” skills. They’re human skills.

Yet so many people reach adulthood having never been taught them. (Are we doing enough still to this day?)

As a psychologist, you can find yourself sitting with the consequences of that absence.

Not because people are broken.
But because they were often expected to learn how to be human without much guidance.

And there can be something deeply sad about that.
Not in a judgmental way. More in a grief-filled way.

A grief that people spent years believing:
their feelings were too much,
their needs were selfish,
conflict meant rejection,
vulnerability was dangerous,
rest had to be earned.

A grief that many arrive in therapy for the first time and experience being listened to, understood, or emotionally held in ways they perhaps should have encountered much earlier in life.

becoming a parent has sharpened this for me too,
When you have a young child, you start seeing how much of emotional life is learned in relationship. You see how dependent we are on others to help us name feelings, recover from distress, and develop a sense of self.

Then you sit across from adults who are still carrying the consequences of places where those lessons were missing.

That can feel heartbreaking.

Sometimes psychologists talk about burnout, but I think there is another experience that gets less attention: sorrow.

Not sorrow because people are struggling.
Sorrow because so much suffering comes from ordinary human needs not being met for long periods of time.

And perhaps the paradox of psychology is that the longer you do it, the less it feels like you’re treating labels and the more it feels like you’re helping people reclaim parts of their humanity that should never have been lost in the first place.

When you let one of the deepest, scariest parts of you be seen —
the part that believes you may never recover,
the part carrying unbearable grief, shame, fear, or loneliness, anger, rage—
you may be surprised by what happens next.

Not because the pain was never real.
Not because healing suddenly becomes easy.

But because so much energy has been spent protecting that hidden place.

In IFS (internal family systems therapy) we understand that many protective parts work tirelessly to keep these wounded places out of sight:
the achiever,
the caretaker,
the avoider,
the numb one,
the endlessly self-reliant one.

And often they do this because somewhere inside is a part convinced:
“If anyone truly saw this pain, I would be too much.”
“I would break.”
“I would be abandoned.”
“I would never come back from it.”

But when that hidden part is finally met with gentleness instead of judgment, something shifts.

Not all at once.
Not perfectly.
But slowly, the nervous system no longer has to work so hard to hide.

And underneath the fear, there is often unexpected spaciousness.
Relief.
Softness.
Connection.
Even lightness.

Because the exile was never asking to destroy you.
It was asking not to carry everything alone anymore.

Sometimes healing is not the disappearance of pain.
Sometimes it is discovering that love can exist in the same room as the parts of you that hurt most.

Ooft parts work is hearts work 🤍🙏
