Your reminder: Parenting is a journey of learning.

Every stage of your child's development brings new joys, new challenges, and new opportunities to grow together.

As your little one changes, it's completely normal to take time to find a new rhythm. What worked last month may not work today - and that's okay.

The most important thing to remember is that there's no one-size-fits-all approach to parenting. Every child is unique, and every family finds their own way.

Be patient with yourself, celebrate the small wins, and know that you're learning alongside your child every step of the way. 🌿

Have you heard of the 5 S's Method? If your baby is feeling unsettled, the 5 S's can be a gentle way to help soothe them and encourage them to settle. πŸ‘Ά

✨ Swaddle – Wrap your baby securely (if appropriate) to help them feel calm and comforted.
✨ Side or tummy (for soothing only) – Holding your baby on their side or tummy can help settle them while they're awake and in your arms. Always place your baby on their back for sleep.
✨ Shush – Soft shushing or white noise can mimic the familiar sounds of the womb.
✨ Swing – Gentle rocking or swaying can be comforting. Avoid vigorous shaking or movements.
✨ Suck – If your baby uses one, a dummy can provide comfort and help them settle.

Every baby is different, so what works for one may not work for another. If you're ever concerned about your baby's crying or settling, speak with your midwife, child health nurse or GP.

πŸ’™ Remember: The safest place for your baby to sleep is on their back, on a firm, flat mattress in a safe cot, following Australian safe sleeping guidelines.

For the first 24 hours, your pulse, blood pressure, temperature and any blood loss will be checked on a regular basis.

Your baby will also receive frequent medical observations.
