Three questions a participant can ask their planner to keep employment in the plan at review.

Plan reviews move fast. Employment goals are often the first thing quietly dropped — not because they don't matter, but because nobody in the room asks the right questions.

If work is part of your goals (or your family member's), these three questions earn their place in every review meeting:

• "What evidence do you need from me that employment is still my goal?" — reviews run on documentation. A short statement of your work goal, in your own words, carries real weight. Better yet, prepare with a quote to submit.

• "Which supports in my current plan helped me move toward work, and are they staying?" — name them specifically. Capacity-building supports that go unnamed tend to go unfunded.

• "If my employment goal changes between now and my next review, what's the process?" — goals evolve. Knowing the mechanism beforehand beats scrambling later.

None of this requires jargon or a perfect plan. It requires the goal being said out loud, on the record, at the right moment.

If someone you support has a review coming up, share this with them before the meeting — not after.

I donated this as a full package that includes a performance audit as well as support before during an after competition so that someone could see and get to feel the value and impact that performance has on their competition day. If you’ve been wanting to try performance coaching here, it is a discounted rate if you can secure this entry bid. and it also helps Brooke in her international campaign in Ireland.

When we set out to run a mental health business, we wanted to make sure that we weren’t going to have to cancel on people for wet weather or hot weather (although it’s rained about 80% of the days since this build started). I don’t know if we have bitten off more than we can chew but slowly it’s all starting to come together nicely! My husband has mostly built this all by himself. He’s been working 7 days a week for 8 months. A fabricator came over to help us put the doors on as the doors this weekend as they were made incorrectly when I imported them but other than three days here and there of some help he’s done this alone.

One year of Stable & Grounded. 🌱

I expected starting a business to test my skills or commitment. I didn't expect it to test who I am.

When you're the founder, the clinician, the marketer and the intake team all at once, there's nowhere to hide. Every flaw I used to quietly route around suddenly had a cost - measured in whether anything happened at all. So I had to get over them. Not through some self-improvement plan, but through the unforgiving fact that if I kept hiding behind them, nothing would exist.

This year I showed up in rooms I used to only dream about. I sat with CEOs of big companies and with politicians. I applied for tenders and got rejected. I built programs with organisations whose values actually align with mine, and referral networks with people genuinely willing to find better solutions for their clients - the right provider to meet a participant where they're at.

Because that's the whole thing: if we can't meet people where they are, we can't expect anything else from them. First we build joy, meaning and belonging. We show people what it feels like to operate from a calm, regulated nervous system - and we find their values, so they have a north star for when things get hard.

I won't pretend it was clean. At times I was tired of justifying my way of working - proving the evidence, the qualifications, feeling like I was still begging for a seat at a table, in a field that carries a rough reputation and no shortage of keyboard warriors.

But here's what the year actually built: it didn't drain the real me out of me - it pulled her forward. I don't have a work self, a home self and a "with the horses" self anymore. The way I meet a nervous horse - patient/client, relational, listening before asking - is the way I meet a client, and the way I show up at my own kitchen table. Same person in the paddock, the session room and at home. That's the thing I'm proudest of, and it's not on any invoice.

So we walk into year two no longer begging for a seat - turning up with our own IKEA flat pack and an Allen key, and building our seat at the table.

Thankyou to those who believed in me- even when I didn't believe in myself.

Sometimes many of the things we speak with clients about also goes on for the animals outside of the therapy space. It is suspected that Chief has never been left alone so he had to come for a ride to the vets yesterday. When Milly went down for an X-ray , his separation anxiety really peaked. On another note, When I talk to people about the level of care and work involved and how there is no profit in this- add in five hours tending to one horse yesterday. Other allied health professionals don’t have that requirement- yet we offer this service because we strongly believe in how it can help people, not for the money
