10 years apart. Same person. Different habits.
I was always the skinny kid.
I could eat whatever I wanted and never put on weight. As good as that sounds, it was frustrating because I wanted to build muscle but struggled due to a fast metabolism and being so active as a teenager.
I started training with my dads old equipment at home at around 16 years old. Learning his old school way of training and shovelling down as much food as I could 🤣 During this time I slowly learnt more about nutrition and training, but most importantly I learnt discipline and consistency.
Here’s a quick look at the journey.
Start of 2016 (17 years old)
📍 Working full-time, couple days of gym and training soccer 4x a week.
2018 (20 years old)
📍 Soccer 4x a week, gym 4x a week, working full-time.
2023 (25 years old)
📍 Completed my first proper cut by tracking calories. Gym 4x a week, working full-time.
2026 (28 years old)
📍 Gym 3–4x a week, working full-time, and I haven’t had to track a calorie in over 12 months to maintain a certain physique.
This didn’t happen in 10 weeks.
It happened over 10 years.
I share this because someone reading this is exactly where I was in 2016—thinking they’ll always be the skinny kid and that it’s too hard.
The truth is, it’s not too hard and you won’t always be the skinny kid if you just start.
If you’re willing to stay patient, learn the right habits and stay consistent, your body will change.
Today, I can maintain a physique I’m happy with without tracking every calorie—not because I’m lucky, but because I’ve spent years learning the habits that actually matter.
And that’s exactly what I help my clients do. No matter the goal.
I genuinely believe that if something is important enough to us, we’ll find a way to make time for it. Progress isn’t about being perfect—it’s about showing up consistently, even when motivation fades.
