PORT DOUGLAS TRIP SEP 2023. AARON and MARIE.
What an amazing holiday with two fantastic friends. Patricia Yael Bidart and I had the pleasure of hosting Marie and Aaron on another Port Douglas adventure. From fishing in croc infested rivers (we caught three fish and Marie and Aaron even steered the boat), to visits to crocodile farms and seeing the wonders of the reef in Cairns, this trip was adventure packed. We also got to hang out with great locals in Port Douglas, Cairns and the hinterland. We even went to a friends book launch in a beautiful country pub. The best thing for us was catching up with old friends and making them a part of our family and our home. We are so lucky to keep in contact with our Sydney family. We missed them so much when we left Sydney so this is a great gift to see them again. Thank you to Santina and Helen for putting your trust in Patricia and myself. I hope you see by their smiles and happiness that it was well deserved. We look forward to seeing them in the future and once again making them a part of our family.

Another great Holiday completed! Thank you so much Peter for your great company over these past few weeks. I hope you enjoyed your Far North Queensland adventure and by your responses it seemed like you did. Your mum has told me that you came back much better than you left so that’s a great sign. It was so good to have you back into our lives. It makes me so happy to see that families of participants that I have supported in the past still want me to maintain contact with them as I always want them to be a part of my life. The things we did. We explored the rainforest and reefs of this area. As Peter is a foodie he requested that we go and see farms that are practicing biodynamic and organic practices. So we went to Daintree, Milla Milla and Atherton tablelands to see local tea growers. We also went on exotic fruit discovery tours in the heart of the Daintree rainforest, the oldest rainforest in the world where we got to see new ways of farming exotic fruits through organised fruit discover tours. Went to chocolate farms to see award winning chocolatier’s create farm grown chocolates. We sampled local beers and spirits in the Atherton tablelands. Explored beautiful local waterfalls. Went to weekend organic farmers markets and spoke with local farmers. Sampled the best restaurants in the area. We also had some great encounters with local wildlife via croc tours and animal encounters in protected rainforest habitats. I really hope you enjoyed your time here Peter. As you said,” the air feels cleaner here and I feel rejuvenated “. He has already told me he want to come back, which is great. I big thank you to Patricia who helped me throughout this whole journey to make sure Peter feels comfortable and “like he is at home with family “.

Yesterday Anthony fulfilled a life long goal of diving the Great Barrier Reef. A goal that only a few years ago Anthony and his family felt would not be possible. Loaded up the van and spending the next few days making the journey to Port Douglas Queensland. Thank you to all our Ability Focused friends and community for such a beautiful couple of weeks of farewells. Big thank you to our Special Olympics Sydney East friends for that unexpected farewell dinner. This isn’t goodbye, as we will be seeing a lot of our families and their children on supported tours to Port Douglas in the coming months. Big wave from Patricia and John and hope to see you all soon.

Ferry to Bundeena. May 20,2021.
What a great day! We enjoyed the sunny autumn day taking the old ferry to Bundeena, a little
Village in the heart of the Royal National Park, with my mates Jonathan, William and Lucas. Thank you Patricia Yael Bidart for another beautiful day.
