In summary, dynamic stretching involves active movements through a full range of motion to prepare the body for physical activity, while static stretching involves holding a stretch position to increase flexibility and reduce muscle tension.
Both types of stretching have their place in a well-rounded fitness and lifestyle routine, with dynamic stretching primarily used as a warm-up and static stretching more commonly used for flexibility training, cooldowns and. rehabilitation.
If you're eager to enhance your flexibility and unlock newfound agility, don't hesitate to send me a private message for further information.

STRETCHING:

Regular stretching helps maintain flexibility and prevent tightness in the Achilles tendon.
Focus on gentle calf stretches, both with a straight leg and a bent knee, to target the Achilles. Hold stretches for 15-30 seconds and perform them several times a day.

STRENGTHENING:

Strengthening exercises for the calf muscles (gastrocnemius and soleus) can support the Achilles tendon.
Perform calf raises on both flat ground and with your heels hanging off a step to target different areas of the calf.
Gradually increase the resistance or weight used in calf exercises to build strength over time.
Listen to your body and avoid pushing through pain

To alleviate lower back pain associated with tight hamstrings and glutes, it's important to focus on stretching and strengthening exercises that target these muscle groups. Regular stretching can help improve flexibility and reduce muscle tightness, while strengthening exercises can help restore muscle balance and support proper alignment of the spine and pelvis. Additionally, incorporating good posture habits and ergonomic adjustments in daily activities can also play a key role in preventing and managing lower back pain.
If you're interested in discovering how I, as a certified stretching coach and remedial massage therapist, can assist you in managing tight hamstrings and glutes, please schedule an appointment. Together, we can explore effective strategies to address these issues and enhance your flexibility and comfort.

So you've injured a muscle? Whether you've over-stretched, torn, strained, or sprained it, the initial healing process is essentially the same. Whether you call it a muscle pull, strain, tear, or something else, the way it heals initially remains unchanged.
The type of injury i'm referring to are soft tissue injuries, these include: hamstring tears, sprained ankles, corked thighs, pulled calf muscle, shoulder strain etc.
The first 48hrs - 1. R.I.C.E.R
2. Avoid stretching for 72hrs
3. Rest and avoid exercise
4. Stay Hydrated
Post 48hrs
1. Heat
2. Massage
3. Strength and stretching exercises
4. Nutrition
After 48hrs start to introduce heat and massage, the heat will promote blood flow which is essential to provide fresh nutrients to the affected site but also helps get rid of any metabolic waste.
The body repairs these injuries with scar tissue which can inhibit the muscle returning to full strength if not treated. Limiting the amount of scar tissue formation around the site is key to a full recovery. Staying active and massaging will help break down the scar tissue formations.
Proper diet and supplements can help with the recovery of injuries. Ensure you eat protein rich foods and include
foods rich in Vitamin C, including citrus fruits and leafy greens which will help rebuild tissue and reduce inflammation, both important aspects of the injury recovery process.
