Today wasn’t the day I had planned.
I had to cancel my massage day in Elliston because of this lingering cough that has followed on from being unwell. It’s not that I’m terribly sick anymore, but it’s one of those coughs that simply won’t let up, and I knew I couldn’t give my clients the care and presence they deserve while working through it.
I’ve realised lately that my body always seems to have something to teach me when I’m willing to listen.
This morning brought a really big realisation for me: I don’t have to do everything all at once.
I’ve been trying to hold too many things at the same time—ideas, projects, work, study, motherhood, homesteading—and my mind has felt noisy because of it. The moment I decided that for the next five weeks I have ONE priority, everything became quieter.
My job for the next five weeks is to become a qualified homeopath. That’s it.
Everything else can wait.
There’s something so calming about giving yourself permission to focus on one thing.
So today, instead of working, I’ve been resting, studying, making up an immune support blend, and a Drosera remedy that I’m hoping is just what this cough has been asking for.
It’s funny how often the lessons I’m learning in homeopathy mirror the lessons I’m learning in life—that healing isn’t always about adding more. Sometimes it’s about taking things away. Less noise. Less pressure. Less comparison. More trust.
I’ve also realised how easy it is to look around—especially on social media—and feel like everyone else is doing more, achieving more, creating more. Somewhere along the way, we forget that we’re only seeing the highlight reel. We weren’t made to live in constant comparison or to be everything to everyone, all at once.
So, I’ll probably be a little quieter on here over the next five weeks. Less scrolling, more studying. Less doing, more being. More presence with my family, my studies, and myself.
If all I do over the next five weeks is become a qualified homeopath, then that will be more than enough.
One thing at a time is enough. 🤍
