💛 R U OK? Day at Lincoln Grove 💛

We shared a lovely morning tea and got a little creative with some heart origami. Our team also delivered cookies ( thanks again Michelle ) to each of our residents as a small reminder that they are thought of and cared for. We stopped along the way for a chat to take the time to stay connected, something very important to us!

R U OK? Day is a wonderful reminder to check in, but looking out for one another isn’t something we save for just one day of the year. It’s in the everyday moments — stopping for a chat, sharing a cuppa, having a laugh, asking “Are you OK?” and, just as importantly, “What can i do to help?”

We’re very lucky to have such a caring community here at Lincoln Grove, where those little moments of connection happen every day.

And remember, our Village Community Centre is always open, the urn is always hot, and there’s never a shortage of conversation echoing through the halls. 💛

Thank you to all our wonderful residents who joined us for our Father’s Day morning tea. It was lovely spending the morning together and celebrating all the dads, grandads and special father figures in our community. 💙

We couldn’t be happier to have Sonya back at Lincoln Grove.

Sonya is an integral part of our team and brings warmth, kindness and compassion to everything she does. She’s always happy to lend a helping hand, and no task is ever too much trouble. Her genuine care for our residents and willingness to support both residents and colleagues is truly appreciated.

It’s team members like Sonya who make Lincoln Grove feel like home for our residents and our staff alike.

“After being in the role for 7 years I left and moved into disability support work because I thought it was time to try something new. But something was missing. I missed it. I didn't have the same connection with the residents or the team.

"When I came back to Lincoln Grove, I knew straight away I'd made the right choice. The look on their faces when they saw me again just brightened my day.

“As a Personal Care Attendant, I visit around 15 residents each day. I help with medications, breakfast and getting ready for the day, but the most important thing is making sure they keep their independence. It's important to me that I'm not stepping on their toes. Caring is about supporting people while honouring their dignity.

People are often surprised by how independent residents are and how connected the community is. There’s always someone stopping for a chat or joining an activity.

"It really feels like a family. And that's what keeps me here."

Margaret is one of our wonderful supported living residents, recently sat down with her daughter, Cherine, to share their journey.
Together, they talk about how supported living has helped Margaret maintain her independence, while providing the reassurance of having care and support available whenever it’s needed. It’s given her the confidence to continue living life her way, all while enjoying the connection, friendships, and welcoming community our village has to offer.

☕🎉 Hello, hello! Have we been busy at The Grove!

Let’s rewind to 18 June, when our village came together for our annual Biggest Morning Tea—and what a fantastic morning it was!

Our wonderful residents arrived with a plate to share and a plate to sell, creating a delicious spread for everyone to enjoy.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our local businesses, who kindly donated vouchers and raffle prizes, we were also able to hold a fantastic raffle.

We’re thrilled to share that, so far, we’ve raised an amazing $1,225.00! 🎉💛

A huge thank you to everyone who baked, donated, bought raffle tickets, and supported such a worthwhile cause. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Welcome to the Wild, Wild West!

Or as our folk like to call it… Grove’s Western Night! 🐎🤠

What a hoedown! A big thank you to everyone who came along and made our Western-themed night one to remember. There were plenty of yeehaws, great company, lots of laughs, and memories made. We couldn’t have asked for a better bunch of cowboys and cowgirls!

A huge thank you to our wonderful Social Committee for all the hard work that went into creating such an incredible night.

We’d also like to thank Joel from Choice Carpets for generously supplying the pallets, and Nigel Syvertson for providing the corrugated iron that helped create our fantastic photo booth backdrop, and our resident Beth Sampson for donating sheering shed items for the display.

And, of course, a special thank you to the Tumby Bay Ukulele Group for once again providing the music and keeping everyone entertained throughout the night. We always love having you!
