Safety is more than PPE. It's our culture.
At J&D Supports, safety isn't something we think about only in the workshopβit's part of every service we provide, every single day.
Whether we're:
πΉ Supporting participants in their homes
πΉ Providing community access and transport
πΉ Running our Momentum and J&D Juniors programs
πΉ Holding cooking sessions where aprons, gloves and food safety practices are essential
πΉ Working in the Built Not Bought workshop with specialised PPE
πΉ Using our fully accessible wheelchair van
πΉ Completing home risk assessments before supports begin
..our focus is always the same: keeping participants, staff and the community safe.
The PPE may look different depending on the task. In the workshop it might be respirators, face shields and hearing protection. In a participant's home it could be gloves, masks or other infection control equipment. During cooking programs it's food hygiene, protective clothing and safe food handling. Before we even begin supports, we assess the environment to identify and manage risks.
Safety isn't about doing the bare minimumβit's about planning ahead, using the right equipment, following the correct procedures and making sure everyone gets home safely.
We're proud to invest in quality equipment, ongoing training and safe work practices because that's what our participants, staff and families deserve.
At J&D Supports, safety comes firstβwherever we are and whatever we're doing. π
