Pain on the outside of your hip? You're not alone.
Pain over the side of the hip is one of the most common complaints we see in the clinic. It's often related to irritation of the gluteal tendons or the bursa, commonly referred to as gluteal tendinopathy or gluteal bursitis.
In this video, our physiotherapist Ashton demonstrates hands-on treatment aimed at reducing tension through the glute medius, glute minimus and piriformis muscles, while helping restore normal movement around the hip.
You might relate if you've noticed:
✔️ Pain when lying on your side
✔️ Pain walking or climbing stairs
✔️ Tenderness on the outside of the hip
✔️ Deep glute tightness or aching
While hands-on treatment can be helpful, identifying why the problem developed is just as important. A thorough assessment allows us to address the underlying cause and create a plan to help you return to comfortable, pain-free movement.
