On Mastery
I recently met with my Qigong Master to work on our ongoing book project (watch this space!). Towards the end of the session, he casually stated that I had now become a Master. No big celebration or ritual, just a "you are here" moment.
I had stopped thinking about levels of achievement, and was happy being a student and teacher, but it turns out that, along with my 20-year history of training, the process of working on the book, and thus processing all the in-depth information directly from such a knowledgeable and experienced practitioner (what would have been called "Transmission" in the past) had transmuted and refined my Qi, and he had noticed some changes, especially related to my recent experience teaching Self Healing Qigong at .
My Xing (subtler, intangible, Spirit-level Qi) has reached a certain level of development. Now it's necessary to work on my Ming (more solid, substantial earth/body-level Qi) with specific Qigong techniques to create a stable base for future development.
I drove home feeling happy, grateful, and just a little proud. The journey continues!
