🪥 Manual vs Electric Toothbrush – Which One Is Better?

It’s one of the most common questions we get at the clinic! The truth? Both manual and electric toothbrushes can clean your teeth effectively — if used correctly.

Here’s a quick comparison:

✨ Manual Toothbrush
✔ Affordable and widely available
✔ Lightweight and travel-friendly
✔ Effective with proper technique
⚠️ Requires good brushing skills and consistency

⚡ Electric Toothbrush
✔ Built-in timers help you brush for the full 2 minutes
✔ Oscillating/sonic movements improve plaque removal
✔ Easier for people with limited dexterity
✔ Often helpful for patients with gum disease

🦷 So which should you choose?
If you struggle with brushing technique, tend to rush, or have gum issues, an electric toothbrush may give you an advantage.
If you’re thorough and consistent, a manual brush can work just as well.

The most important factor isn’t the brush — it’s how well and how regularly you use it.

Not sure which one is right for you? Ask us at your next visit — we’re happy to guide you based on your individual needs.
