Today is Day, and the members of the Medical Board of Australia are wearing their silliest socks to start a conversation on the importance of good mental health.

It's a good day to check in with a colleague and take a moment to prioritise your own wellbeing.

A healthy medical profession starts with each of us.

Health practitioners are often the first to see the signs of family violence.

That’s why Ahpra, National Boards and Accreditation Authorities are working together to strengthen how the health workforce recognises and responds to people experiencing family, domestic and sexual violence.

Our joint statement, released today, reinforces a shared commitment: ensuring practitioners and students have the skills, confidence and guidance to make a difference when it matters most.

Creating inclusive environments starts with everyday actions — and Pride Month is a chance to reflect on the difference they make.

Pride Month celebrates the contributions of LGBTQIA+ people across our communities.

It’s also a reminder that inclusion is not defined by a single action, but by the consistent choices that help people feel respected, valued and able to be themselves.

Late fees have been waived until 5 June. This means that anyone who renews by 5 June won't be charge a late fee.

Your registration will expire at the end of June, so it’s still important that you renew as soon as possible.

Does safe and effective healthcare matter to you? We want to hear from you!

Ahpra and the National Boards are consulting on proposed changes to the recency of practice and continuing professional development registration standards.

These standards exist to make sure that the practitioners that you rely on for safe and effective healthcare have practised in their profession recently and continue to develop their knowledge and skills throughout their career.

Your feedback will help make sure the standards support safe healthcare.

Telehealth is sometimes a good alternative to in-person care, particularly for people in regional and remote areas - but only when it is safe and clinically appropriate.

Practitioners should consider whether telehealth is appropriate for each patient, while continuing to meet the same standard of care expected for in-person consultations.
