8/8 feels like a good day to share something I’ve been thinking a lot about lately.
After spending so many years working with people’s bodies, and quite literally holding space for people through all sorts of things, I’ve become more and more interested in the environments our bodies are living in.
Not just the physical environment around us, but the stress we’re carrying, our relationships, our work, how much we move, how well we sleep, whether we get enough time to rest, connect, breathe and just be.
Our bodies are constantly taking all of this in and adapting.
And the more I think about it, the more I realise that we can’t always change the environment we’re in. Sometimes we’re in situations that are difficult, and changing them isn’t as simple as “make a healthier choice”.
But maybe we can become a little more curious about what our body is experiencing.
Maybe we can find small moments where we give it something different. A walk. A proper breath. Some quiet. A good laugh. Time outside. Rest. Connection. A massage. Whatever feels supportive to you.
My work has become about much more than just helping someone’s muscles feel better. It’s about the person attached to those muscles, and everything their body is carrying.
So today, on 8/8, a day that many people associate with reflection, intention and new beginnings I want to think about…
What is your body adapting to?
And perhaps more importantly,
What does your body need a little more of?
Sending love 💗
