📢 Important Medicare Bulk Billing Changes – Effective 1 July 2026

From 1 July 2026, Medicare requires patients to provide consent for all bulk billed services before a Medicare claim can be processed.

To make this process as quick and convenient as possible, we encourage all patients to download the HotDoc app and ensure notifications are enabled.

Through the HotDoc app, you can:
✅ Receive appointment reminders
✅ Complete Medicare bulk billing consent forms electronically
✅ Reduce paperwork and waiting times at reception
✅ Help avoid delays at your next appointment

If you receive a Medicare Consent Form via email or the HotDoc app, please complete it before attending your appointment.

Patients who do not provide consent for bulk billed services cannot be bulk billed, as Medicare requires patient consent before a claim can be submitted.

Please note that our practice will be closed tomorrow morning from 8:00 am–11:00 am so our staff can attend the funeral of our dear colleague, Dr Indhira Aravindan.

We will reopen at 11:00am as usual.

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Dr. Indhira Aravindan.

Dr. Indhira was more than a doctor to our practice — she was a compassionate soul, a trusted friend, and a deeply respected member of our team and community. Her kindness, gentle nature, and unwavering dedication to her patients touched the lives of so many people over the years.

She cared for her patients with genuine warmth and empathy, always taking the time to listen, support, and comfort those around her. To many, she was not only a doctor, but a source of reassurance, strength, and kindness during difficult times.

Her loss is deeply felt by all of us at Quakers Hill Family Practice, and she will be remembered with immense love, gratitude, and respect.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, patients, and everyone whose lives she touched.

• Adults aged 65 years+

We are sharing our holiday closure dates early to give all patients plenty of time to plan appointments and organise their medical needs.

Your team at Quakers Hill Family Practice will be taking a short break over Christmas and New Year. The practice will be closed from 25th December to 4th January, reopening on 5th January.

📢 Big News from Quakers Hill Family Practice

From November 1, 2025, we will be returning to fully bulk billing all Medicare-eligible patients under the government’s Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program (BBPIP).

👉 Please note:

- Our regular doctors’ books are currently full. A waitlist is in place for new patients and for returning patients who haven’t been seen since January 2025.

- Good news! A new GP will be joining our team soon and will be accepting new patients.

- Our GP Registrars are also accepting new patients and you can book with them directly (no waitlist required).
