Good Afternoon folks. Let's talk Vaccines and Vaccinations.

You have no doubt heard on the radio and TV about Influenza, RSV and Japanese Encephalitis.

We still have Flu vaccines available, including Flumist for children aged 24 months to 17 years. Depending on your circumstances you may qualify for a free vaccine. Vaccines are free for Children from 6 months to 5 years, Adults over 65, Aboriginal people from 6 months and those people with At Risk Conditions. If you are unsure whether you qualify for a free vaccine - call us, we can tell you quickly.

RSV. As you know RSV was a significant cause of death in our population a couple of years ago. It will strike the elderly and the young hardest.
Beyfortus is available for children under 24 months.
Abrysvo is available for pregnant women at 28 weeks of pregnancy.
Arexvy is available for Adults 75 years of age and over, and for Aboriginal people at 60 years of age and over.
These are all free.
For those with medical risk conditions, they are available privately based on clinical decision.

Japanese Encephalitis - JEV. Our Local Government Area is one of many throughout NSW that has guaranteed the residents access to free vaccines. If you live in the Liverpool Plains, or work, play or visit, you are eligible for a free JEV vaccine.

We have all these vaccines available at Quirindi Health Centre. If you wish to take advantage of this offer, or have questions, please call us to make an appointment with our Doctors.

Hepatitis A virus has been found in the Tamworth community. Stay safe during the CMF

Hepatitis A can be serious if it’s not picked up early.

If you feel unwell, or have been around someone with hepatitis A or similar symptoms, please go to your GP, local health clinic or AMS as soon as you can.

You may be tested (a simple blood test if needed) and offered a vaccine to help protect you and your family.

Washing your hands thoroughly with soap and running water, preparing food safely and keeping shared spaces like the bathroom and kitchen clean will help stop the spread of hepatitis A.
