Comprehensive community initiatives (CCIs) that incorporate school-based or parenting components show more consistent signals of benefit for reducing AOD-related harms compared with other CCI combinations, according to NDARC researchers.

"Although the state of evidence did not allow confident conclusions on the impact of CCIs, ... we identified many examples of effective CCIs," they conclude in a new paper.

Do you know a young person aged 15-18 who lives in NSW, Vic or WA?

NDARC, in partnership with Youth Affairs Council Victoria (YACVic), are looking for a few more young people to join the Next Wave Study Youth Council, a group co-designing an upcoming study on how young people encounter alcohol, gaming, smoking, gambling and unhealthy foods and how this impacts their health and wellbeing.

Sessions are two hours and held online a few times a year after school hours. Young people are paid $52/hour for their time and expertise.
