I am soooooo excited to share that one of the other Grunwaldt’s, also known as Liam, is joining the team!

Liam has always been quietly in the background, supporting my quests. But now, he has jumped on board!

He is a proud Ballarat local (born and raised), a Dad, a self-confessed super nerd 🤓 tragic St Kilda supporter (go easy on him!), collector, gamer, film buff and an overall sensible, reliable, friendly and easy-going guy.

He is also an ICT specialist with 20 years of experience, most recently working in the secondary education sector, with a solid understanding of disability, neurodivergence and mental health.

He is so excited to start sharing his knowledge and expertise in a meaningful way, supporting people in his local community.

He is a strong believer that technology should be fun and exciting, not overwhelming and inaccessible, and wants others to feel this way too! He can support with goals such as building tech confidence, getting job/study ready and staying safe online.

And PS. He doesn’t just provide tech skill-building - he can also provide companionship and promote independence through support with community participation and inclusion, and general skill building with daily activities.

2026 is going to be a big one for me.

It is my final year of my Masters so I can FINALLY get my Nurse Practitioner endorsement.

This means I am required to complete mandatory placement hours from March through until November, which means temporary changes to LGMH hours.

I am confident that there will be little disruption to my lovely clients and my capacity to take new referrals, and I will do my absolute best to keep the impact of my absence to a minimum.

Of course, there will be some things outside of my control, however I know that it will all be worth it once I’m done!

If you don’t already know, once endorsed as a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I will be able to provide a whole other advanced level of care to my clients and community, and that is what it has always been about.

Aside from continuing my role as a therapist, I will also have the authority to:

🙌 Provide Medicare rebates for EVERY session - and you won’t need a referral! This is HUGE and the key reason I set out to become a NP - to provide financial relief and therefore increase access in the community to specialised mental health care 🫶
🙌 Prescribe medications (within my scope of course!)
🙌 Diagnose most mental health conditions
🙌 Make appropriate referrals to other providers
🙌 Request and interpret appropriate investigations (eg. blood tests)

Throwback to a couple of weeks ago when I felt pretty darn good, the sun came out for 10 minutes on a cold dreary day and I honestly thought I had managed to dodge the flu this winter 😬

I 👏 was 👏 SO 👏 wrong 👏 😭

Thank you universe for stepping up and reminding me that I am not super-human after all 🤧

Thank you to everyone who has been so understanding and patient, rolling with the constant cancellations and rescheduling over the last week + 🙏

Thank you to everyone who had to listen to me complain about how boring it is to be sick and stuck at home 🥱

I think I am finally on the mend though 😅🤞 and I am definitely looking forward to being back at work doing what I love.

Please don’t mind the croaky voice 😆 it is going to be hard saying serious life changing things - I truly don’t mind if you need to have a laugh at my expense 😂

On a serious note though - please don’t go scooting about town unnecessarily if you are sick. There is a lot more flu going around than ‘usual’ right now for a number of reasons (that is factual) and I am very lucky to have my health. Some people aren’t so fortunate as their health is far more vulnerable - that can feel pretty scary 🥺

So please take care of yourselves and each other 🫶
