🏍️ Can I ask the riders something?
Have you ever got home after an amazing ride…
…and realised your body enjoyed it a little less than you did?
Your neck is tight.
Your shoulders are burning.
Your hips feel stiff.
Your lower back is reminding you every time you swing your leg off the bike.
Most of us just laugh it off.
“I’m just getting older.”
“That’s part of riding.”
Maybe.
But maybe not.
As someone who loves riding myself, I know what it’s like to lose yourself on an incredible stretch of road.
The freedom.
The focus.
The fresh air.
The mates.
The places a bike can take you.
That’s why I don’t think the goal is simply to own your dream bike.
I think the goal is to have a body that still lets you enjoy it 10, 20 or even 30 years from now.
One thing I’ve learnt is that we spend a lot of time looking after our motorcycles…
Servicing them.
Cleaning them.
Checking the tyres.
Adjusting the suspension.
But how much time do we spend looking after the body that’s carrying us?
Before my longer rides these days, I spend five or ten minutes getting my body ready.
A little hip mobility.
Some upper back movement.
Loosening my shoulders.
After the ride, I walk.
Stretch.
Recover.
Just small habits that help my body cope with the ride a little better.
They’re not glamorous.
But they’ve become part of helping me keep doing something I genuinely love.
Because the last thing I want is for my body to become the reason I stop riding.
🏍️ I’m curious…
What’s the first part of your body that notices a longer ride?
👇 Neck?
👇 Lower back?
👇 Hips?
👇 Hands?
👇 Somewhere else?
I’d love to hear from fellow riders.
