National Reconciliation Week

🧑🏾‍🍼👶🏽🤰🏽A special time of yarning at Redcliffe Hospital today - to raise cultural understanding and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mums, babies and families.

🫶 One way this happens is through the gift of baby packs for new mums doing it tough. Full of essentials to assist in the early days of having a baby, these packs help build trust and connection.

Following a pilot funded by a Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital Wishlist Grant, these bags now help around 14 new mothers a month through the Ngarrama initiative at Redcliffe Hospital - thanks to A Brave Life

🖤💛❤️Celebrated each year from 27 May to 3 June, National Reconciliation Week is an important opportunity for all Australians to come together to recognise and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and achievements, while reflecting on our shared journey towards reconciliation.

Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital is proud to support National Reconciliation Week. 🤝✨

🎉📅This week is an opportunity to reflect on the importance of respect, understanding and connection and the role we all play in building stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

We are committed to supporting initiatives that help create a more inclusive, culturally safe and connected healthcare community for patients, families and staff at Redcliffe Hospital. 🏥🫶🌏

❤️ Power of community in action ❤️

A huge thank you to our amazing community partners who came together to support Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital Giving Day. Your generosity, local spirit, and commitment helped make this year’s event our biggest and most impactful yet.

Rotary Club of Redcliffe Sunrise, Community Bank Margate, MAD ANT Termite and Pest Control, Moreton Bay Prostate Cancer Support Group, Velocity Energy, Redcliffe Friendly Grocer, Zouki, Margate $3 Op Shop. Your support helped raise over $226,227 🎉

Because of you, we’re closer to refurbishing the last 2 single rooms in the Palliative Care Unit, which will help raise comfort and dignity for patients, their families, and our dedicated staff.

We are so grateful to have such a strong, compassionate community standing behind us. 💙
