On Wednesday, we took part in some slow yoga for our group time. How can utilising this short interactive program help with learning?

- Children build emotional regulation and self-soothing skills as they practice controlled breathing and mindful cool-downs.
- Children improve their gross motor skills, spatial awareness, balance, and physical strength through diverse body movements.
- Children listen to and transfer language and visual instructions by translating spoken stories or digital imagery into physical actions.

This week we explored a construction sensory box!

We mixed flour and cooking oil to make a soft crumbly base. Then, add some mini wood pieces for extra fun.

This simple activity provided the perfect opportunity for our friend to explore their imaginations as they dove into a mini world of fun.

Using our sensors to touch and feel the different resources. While practicing and strengthening our fine motor skills to dig, lift and dump with the truck.

On Monday, we took part in this colourful painting activity. This group of friends used their curiosity when approaching the table and creativity when exploring each colour.

While engaging with the paint, we had meaningful conversations to test and expand our knowledge of colours.

Our friends experimented by mixing the colours to see what would happen. They shared their enthusiasm and ideas with each other.

This group of friends resourced their own learning by exploring our block table together.

I observed them using problem solving skills to sort the shapes. They displayed dispositions for learning such as cooperativeness and persistence as they engaged with each other and the activity.

Our newest friend has been welcomed in with open hearts by the older friends 🥹

Many have taken on a care giver role showing care, empathy and respect as we all navigate a new addition to our little group.

It is beautiful seeing so much happiness beam from all our friends as they go about their day 💖

Today I observed some great building skills!

This friend decided to explore the construction table. Using dispositions for learning such as persistence and reflection. As well as curiosity and creativity, linking this learning moment to outcome 4.1.

Another wonderful week has sadly come to an end!

This week we took our learning outside, embracing the sunshine and outdoor playspace.

Spending as much time as possible in the sunshine and fresh air. This week had good vibes, mixed with activities and learning.

I don't think it gets better than this 💖

3 friends, a toy phone and the magic begins!

Today this trio took part in their own imaginary game. Two of them posed and the other took the photo. These friends have taken one concept they have learnt by watching the world around them, transfered and adapted it into play.

This observation is linked to learning outcome 4.3 and 4.4.
