Year 10 students can receive free meningococcal B and ACWY vaccines at school through the School Immunisation Program.

The A, C, W and Y strains are all included in one vaccine. The B strain needs two doses of the vaccine to provide full protection.

Meningococcal infection is a serious medical emergency as it can be life threatening. It can cause severe scarring, loss of limbs, brain damage and even death.

Students can receive the free meningococcal vaccines if a completed consent form is returned to the school and consent is provided. Look out for the School Immunisation Program consent form, sign it and return it.

Everyone is invited to have their say on the draft plan. We strongly encourage people with lived experience to contribute to the consultation.

The survey closes Friday 12 June 2026. Your feedback will be used to help us finalise the DAIP prior to launch later this year.
