Dear Families and Friends,

Like much of Richmond, Hawkesbury Living experienced a power outage today (5th September) from approximately 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm.

Our residents enjoyed their dinner, played some games and, once it became dark, shared a lovely reminiscence session by artificial candlelight. 🕯️ Who needs electricity when you have great company and plenty of stories to share?

We are pleased to let everyone know that we are safe and well, and we hope everyone throughout the Richmond community is too. 🙏💕

Hi Residents, Families and Friends,

Winter has certainly arrived, but there's plenty to look forward to this month! At our recent Resident Meeting, we asked residents whether they would like to celebrate Christmas in July, and the answer was a resounding YES!
We are excited to be bringing some festive cheer to Hawkesbury Living with a week full of Christmas-themed activities, entertainment, and celebrations.
Our festivities will begin on Saturday, 18th July, with DJ Joep's Christmas in July Party, followed by a week of Christmas-themed activities, crafts, games and festive fun.
We warmly invite residents, families, and friends to join us for our Christmas in July Lunch on Wednesday, 22nd July.
We look forward to celebrating together.

Happiness comes in all shapes and sizes... and today, it had long ears! 💕

Our residents were treated to some very special visitors today as Nikki from Pippy & Friends Bunny Therapy brought along her gorgeous bunnies.

From room visits to cuddles in our lounges, the bunnies brought so many smiles to both our residents and staff. For some residents, the visit brought back fond memories of pets they had loved over the years, while others simply enjoyed the calm and comfort of having a fluffy friend close by.

A huge thank you to Nikki and her beautiful bunnies for spending the day with us. We always love having you at Hawkesbury Living and are already looking forward to your next visit! 🐰💙

We're getting ready for tonight's big game with some delicious State of Origin-themed donuts for our residents to enjoy. 🍩💙

🦁🦒 Western Sydney Zoo Adventure 🦓🐘

Our May bus trip to Western Sydney Zoo was a wonderful day out for residents, family members, staff, and volunteers.

The morning started off rainy, but that didn't stop us. Everyone put on their raincoats and headed out to explore the zoo. We enjoyed a lovely morning tea together before continuing our adventure.

By the afternoon, the weather had cleared and we were lucky enough to enjoy some sunshine while visiting the animals.

It was a great opportunity to get out into the community, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy something different. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special.

We are already looking forward to our next outing! ❤️

Last week, we came together to remember and honour our heroes on ANZAC Day 🌺

Our residents, family members and staff gathered for a special service to remember and honour those who served. Some of our residents participated by reading poems, making the moment even more meaningful and personal.

It was a time for reflection, remembrance, and connection, as we paid our respects to those who served and sacrificed for our country. The sense of respect and togetherness was truly felt by everyone.

A Special Visit from Youth Theatre Group 🎭

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Tyrese and his talented youth theatre group to Hawkesbury Living. The group visited as part of their community engagement for their upcoming production, “The Once Upon a Woods.”

During their time with us, the students performed, shared stories, and spent time chatting with residents. It was a really nice visit, with plenty of genuine conversations and moments that both residents and students enjoyed.

Our residents appreciated the time and effort the group put into connecting with them, and it was clear the students also found the experience meaningful. We later received a message from Tyrese sharing how much the visit meant to the cast and crew, especially having the chance to listen to residents’ stories.

Thank you to Tyrese and the whole team for your time, respect, and positive energy. We look forward to seeing you again in the future.
