THE WOOD ELEMENT 🪵
Growth. Vision. Direction. Flexibility. New beginnings.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Wood Element represents our natural desire to grow, expand and move forward in life.
Like a tree reaching toward the light, Wood energy gives us the ability to create a vision, make decisions, adapt to change and find a pathway forward.
Colour: Green
Season: Spring
Organs: Liver and Gallbladder
Sense Organ: Eyes
Taste: Sour
Positive qualities: Growth, vision, creativity, flexibility, courage, direction and determination.
Emotion when out of balance: Anger, frustration, irritability and resentment.
When Wood is in balance, we can feel motivated, creative, flexible and purposeful. We can see where we are going while remaining adaptable about how we get there.
When Wood is out of balance, we may experience frustration, impatience, irritability or anger. We may feel stuck, indecisive or restricted, wanting something to change but unable to see the pathway forward.
In kinesiology, we can explore the Liver and Gallbladder meridians alongside the emotional and energetic patterns associated with the Wood Element. Through muscle monitoring, we listen to the body’s biofeedback and explore where stress or imbalance may be presenting.
Wood reminds us that growth doesn’t always mean pushing harder.
Sometimes we need stronger roots.
Sometimes we need a new direction.
Sometimes we simply need the flexibility to bend without breaking.
Your body has its own language.
Kinesiology gives us a way to listen.
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be introducing you to all Five Elements and showing you how they can appear in everyday life.
And soon, I’ll be sharing something special to help you discover your own Elemental Blueprint.
