What a wonderful morning we had today at Brookland. A big thank you to the Social Club for organising another lovely concert for our residents. Marco had everyone entertained with his guitar playing and a great selection of tunes, with plenty of singing along through the morning. Residents also enjoyed some delicious morning tea and most importantly, wonderful company and enjoyment together.

We had a truly beautiful Mother's Day High Tea last week.

A huge thank you to our wonderful social club and all the amazing helpers who put together such a special afternoon. The food was absolutely delicious, the company was wonderful and the atmosphere was full of laughter, friendship and lovely memories.

It was also extra special as we celebrate one of our residents turning an incredible 95 years young! What a privilege to share such a milestone surrounded by friends and community.

We had the pleasure of enjoying a Performance by Liam Waldock recently at Brookland. He performed a wonderful mix of modern songs, opera, and musical theatre - what a voice!

We're excited to share that our new fortnightly outings have officially begun and what a fantastic start it was.

Our lifestyle coordinator, Kate, kicked things off with a beautiful trip to Roma Street Parkland. On the way, residents enjoyed a themed podcast about the destination, setting the scene for the day ahead. Once there, Kate had thoughtfully prepared information sheets for a bit of fun and making the experience both engaging and informative.

A special mention also goes to resident Steve, who captured some wonderful photos and assisted Kate throughout the outing - thank you, Steve!

We enjoyed a most interesting talk from Walkabout Rob on the History of Convict settlement in Brisbane and the buildings that still remain in the city for us to see. Rob is passionate about sharing local history through YouTube videos, history walking tours, and public speaking engagements.

It's been wonderful to see residents coming together, joined by Village management, each Thursday morning for a gentle walk around the village, followed by a relaxed catch-up in the cafe over tea, coffee or a nice refreshing cold drink. A perfect way to start the day, fresh air, friendly faces and a few laps at your own pace.

We look forward to continuing this lovely routine each week. Everyone is welcome to join us every Thursday at 7am.

Theres a new rhythm in the village and it's bringing plenty of toe-tapping energy with it! 🤠 Yesterday we launched our brand-new line dancing class and the response has been incredible. With approximately 45 residents already signed up, everyone is eager to hit the floor learn the steps and share plenty of laughs along the way. We have a professional instructor leading the classes, ensuring residents not only learn proper technique but also build confidence in a fun, supportive environment. Line dancing is a fantastic way to stay active, improve balance and coordination and most importantly, connect with others.

🐶 Our brand-new dog park has quickly become a favourite spot for our four-legged friends and their humans too! Every afternoon a handful of our residents gather here, letting their dogs play, explore and make new furry friends.
It's wonderful to see not just the dogs enjoying themselves, but also our residents connecting and socialising in such a relaxed and fun environment. Whether its wagging tails, friendly chats , or a bit of fetch, there's always something heartwarming happening here.
If you haven't visited yet, come by, you don't need to have a dog to join in with the fun.
