Today is Actinic Keratosis Awareness Day ☀

Actinic Keratoses (AKs) are scaly lesions found on sun-damaged skin that are often easier to feel than see. They may appear as dry, rough patches on the skin, or feel raw, sensitive, itchy, painful, prickly or burning. Some AKs can become inflamed, bleed, develop a persistent sore or disappear only to return in the same spot.

Where can skin cancers develop? Unfortunately both melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer can appear almost anywhere on the body.
