This week at Parfrey Place, we're focusing on bone health.

Did you know 1 in 2 women and 1 in 3 men over 60 will experience a fracture caused by osteoporosis? The good news is there's a lot you can do to protect your bones at any age.

A few simple habits make a real difference:

Get enough calcium — dairy, leafy greens, almonds and fortified foods (aim for 3–5 serves a day)
Top up your vitamin D with a little safe sun exposure
Stay active with walking, dancing or light strength training
Reduce fall risks at home — clear clutter, secure loose rugs and improve lighting

If you're over 50, post-menopausal, or have a family history of osteoporosis, it's worth asking your GP whether a bone density (DEXA) scan is right for you.
