The name Gumbi Gumbi was adopted to represent a place of healing for those who have been affected by the use of drugs, alcohol, and substance abuse. As with the Gumbi Gumbi plant which, as it grows and matures, increases its healing power with the medicine becoming stronger, Gumbi Gumbi Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation provides a place of healing where those who visit can rebuild their lives and develop a strong foundation for their future.
