You do not need to justify a feeling before you are allowed to acknowledge it.

Emotions can tell us that something matters, that a boundary has been crossed, that we are overwhelmed, or that a situation needs more attention. Sometimes the feeling makes immediate sense. Sometimes it takes longer to understand.

Acknowledging an emotion is not the same as agreeing with every thought that comes with it or acting on it straight away. It is simply the starting point for working out what may be happening and what response would be useful.

A workplace injury impacts more than just your physical health.

You might be juggling appointments, paperwork, calls, medical certificates, and recounting what happened. Simultaneously, you could face pain, stress, disrupted routines, and work-related uncertainty.

It’s a lot to handle.

Psychological support can assist with:

- Managing emotional responses to the injury
- Anxiety about work or returning to the job
- Changes in sleep, mood, or focus
- Lowered confidence
- Dealing with uncertainty during the claims process
- Setting and working towards recovery goals

The Co-Being Space welcomes suitable referrals from WorkCover Queensland.

Once you have a claim number, you might qualify for psychological support while your claim is under review. This depends on your circumstances and WorkCover’s approval.

Journaling can sound like one of those things you are supposed to do because it is “good for you”.

But it does not need to involve writing pages every night, buying a special notebook or trying to find something profound to say.

A useful journal prompt can simply help you:

• slow down a busy mind
• organise thoughts that feel tangled
• notice patterns you may be missing
• put words to what you are feeling
• work out what you need
• make a decision feel clearer
• create some distance from a difficult situation

You do not need to answer all seven prompts. Choose the one that feels most relevant and write for five minutes. A few honest sentences are enough.

Save these prompts for the next time your thoughts feel crowded, stuck or difficult to sort through.

Which prompt would be most useful for you today?

WELCOME LILLI

We’re so pleased to welcome Lilli to The Co-Being Space.

Lilli is joining us as a provisional psychologist for a 12-week placement, with the hope that she will continue with us beyond this time.

From Monday 13 July, Lilli will have therapy spaces available for new enquiries.

At The Co-Being Space, therapy is not about being “fixed”. It is about being met with curiosity, care and respect while making sense of what is happening for you.

Lilli may be a good fit for people who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low, disconnected, burnt out, stuck, or unsure how to move forward.

A provisional psychologist is registered with Ahpra and works under supervision as part of their pathway towards full registration as a psychologist. This means Lilli is supported by Allys within our practice while offering care that is grounded, reflective and client-centred.

Appointments with Lilli are offered outside the Medicare rebate system, which means a GP referral or Mental Health Treatment Plan is not required to enquire.

To ask a question or make an enquiry, contact us at [email protected] or call 0439 902 920.

We’re grateful to be creating more space for people to be seen, supported and understood.

This week is Neurodiversity Celebration Week (16 to 20 March 2026), and we are so proud to be celebrating it. 💙

Swipe through to learn what neurodiversity is, who it includes, and what it actually means to work with a neuro-affirming practice.

A little about us. The Co-Being Space is a proudly neuro-affirming practice. Our founder and owner is neurodivergent herself, and that lived experience shapes everything we do.

Our therapy and assessment work focuses on your strengths, your goals, and removing the barriers that get in the way of living a full life. We work with neurodivergent people of all ages, their families, schools, employers, and the teams who support them.

You do not need a diagnosis to reach out. If you are looking for support that actually fits who you are, the link is in our bio.

Last night I had the privilege of being invited to join some of my colleagues as a panelist at the Clinical Societies quarterly event about the ADHD reforms for GP Assessment and Treatment of ADHD.

This was a first time for me and my anxiety was high! It was also a reminder that we can all do hard things outside of our comfort zone when we remember our why.

As a Clinical Psychologist, ADHDer and parent of a ADHDer I am passionate about improving outcomes for individuals and families living with ADHD.

At The Co-Being Space one of our biggest values is collaboration, with clients as the experts in their own lives, and with the systems of support around them including GPs, schools, family and workplaces.

It was wonderful having the opportunity to start building connections with GPs and Specialists in the region.
