🌺 Let’s talk Mammograms this Breast Cancer Awareness Month
A mammogram uses low dose X rays to image the breast and check for changes.

Screening mammograms are used for people with no symptoms.
🍥 They look for changes before they can be felt or cause symptoms.

Diagnostic mammograms are used when there is a specific concern, like a lump, discharge, or skin dimpling.
🍥 They investigate whether the cause of symptoms may include cancer, cysts, infections or calcifications.
🙌 Early detection can provide more treatment options and improve outcomes.

💗 For the whole of October, we'll be donating $5 for every mammogram completed at our clinics. Proceeds will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation to support vital research.

It's not too late to participate!

If you're currently a heavy smoker, or have been in the past, and aged between 50 & 70, speak with your GP about the National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP) 🩺
It's free for eligible Australians.
And uses a low-dose CT scan to check for early signs of lung cancer, often before symptoms appear.

This World Heart Day, take a moment to think about your cardiovascular health.

A Calcium Score is a non-invasive CT scan that measures calcified plaque in the coronary arteries and can provide your doctor with additional information when assessing your cardiovascular risk.
If you have cardiovascular risk factors or are unsure about your individual risk, talk to your GP about whether a Calcium Score could be appropriate for you.

And on World Heart Day, Tuesday 29 September, Central Queensland Radiology is offering eligible patients Coronary Artery Calcium Scoring for just $50 out-of-pocket at our Emerald and Rockhampton - Aquatic Place clinics.
