It’s Healthy Bones Week.

A timely reminder that bone health matters 🦴
Because low bone density and osteoporosis often develop without symptoms.
It’s good to check in with your GP about your bone health and possible risk factors 🩺

A DEXA scan is a quick, painless way to assess bone density and fracture risk.
No special prep is needed.
The appointment only takes 15 -20 minutes and the scan itself takes just 2-3 minutes ⏳

Ask your doctor whether a bone density scan is right for you.

Do you think radiologists only look at scans?

Radiologists are specialist doctors whose expertise extends far beyond interpreting subtle findings in medical images.

They are extensively trained to:
✳️Assess clinical symptoms and medical history to help determine the cause of a patient’s condition
✳️Diagnose conditions affecting soft tissues, organs, muscles and joints, as well as bones
✳️Use radiopharmaceuticals to assess how different parts of the body are functioning
✳️Perform biopsies and take tissue samples guided by imaging
✳️Deliver minimally invasive treatments for pain management
✳️Use contrast and manage radiation doses to support accurate diagnosis
✳️Optimise advanced imaging technology to capture the highest quality images for accurate diagnosis

And they work closely with GPs, specialists and allied health professionals to help guide patient care.

Behind every report is years of medical training, clinical judgement and careful problem solving.
