Who has HIP PAIN???

Massage is essential for sore hips and the surrounding muscles which can cause horrible discomfort. These muscles are usually sore from overuse, tightness, or imbalances in the muscles supporting the joint, often resulting in conditions like hip flexor strain, piriformis syndrome, or bursitis.

Massage and a combination of strengthening exercises can help rectify weak muscles and release tight ones, particularly in the hips, glutes, and core.

The Hip Flexors which are located at the front often have tightness which stems from excessive sitting, causing the muscles to shorten and pull on the pelvis. The groin can also be affected by a hip flexor strain or over use from cardio such as running or cycling.
Strengthening the glutes and core can help balance the pull on the hip flexors.

Pain located on the outside of the hip can be caused by the glute muscles and the ITB band. These muscles become weak and need to be strengthened to help the pain go away.

The quadriceps, often referred to as the “quads,” are a group of four muscles located at the front of the thigh. These muscles play a crucial role in daily movements, athletic performance, and overall lower-body strength.

Regular massage helps increase blood flow for a faster recovery, breaks down sore muscles and increases flexibility.

The superficial quad Re**us Femoris can irritate the hip as it attaches to the pelvis helping with hip flexion. All four quads attach to the knee which help with extension. Massaging all vastus muscles can help relieve knee pain. Overuse of the quadriceps can cause patellar tendinitis, often referred to as “runners knee,” which results in pain and inflammation around the front of the knee.

Overall, addressing trigger points through targeted massage techniques can help restore function and reduce pain, making movement more comfortable and efficient. Your quadriceps are essential for movement, stability, and performance, and keeping them in good shape should be a priority. Understanding their function, recognising common issues, and taking proactive steps to prevent injury can make a huge difference. ☺️

Pain comes and goes!!
Are you someone that puts up with pain? Sometimes it goes away and other times it lingers. Pain is a symptom - your body is telling you it’s sore or overused. It may need rest and it most definitely needs some release which can be gained from massage!!
Give it a go…. You’ll be surprised how well massage and the release of trigger points within the muscle helps. 🖤
