Residents at Regis Wynnum enjoyed a delicious pizza-making activity in the home's sunny courtyard, coming together to prepare and share their homemade creations.

As resident Dulcie shared, “It was very delicious and wonderfully done, it's better than fast food pizza! We truly enjoyed it.”

Happy Dashain!

Residents, families and team members from Regis Lodges on George, Regis Ferny Grove and Regis Holland Park came together to celebrate one of Nepal’s most cherished festivals.

At Regis Lodges on George and Regis East Malvern, residents and team exchanged blessings during a traditional Tika ceremony and enjoyed a Nepali dance performance. Regis Ferny Grove marked the occasion with a festival lunch, specialised menus and handmade kite decorations.

At Regis Holland Park, residents celebrated with traditional dress, decorations, prayers and dancing. Residents participated in the Tika ritual, where they volunteered to apply Tika to team's foreheads, sharing in the custom of elders offering blessings to younger generations.

Resident Adele, who joined in on the celebrations, said, “It was lovely to experience Nepalese culture and traditions. The dancing, decorations and festive atmosphere made the celebration very special.”

More than four decades after meeting at a New Year's Eve party, Charles and Sheila are still sharing laughs, making memories and enjoying life side by side.

Now living at Regis Armadale, Victoria, the couple continue to find joy in the little things, from reminiscing about how they first met to sharing new experiences together.

One dress. Two very different moments, more than 60 years apart.

Joan first wore her wedding dress when she married Ron in Auckland in 1964.

For decades, it carried the memories of that day. This year, the Regis Yeronga, Queensland resident decided to give it a new chapter.

Joan donated the gown for Eco Fashion Week, where Lifestyle employee Sonam transformed it with new fabric before wearing the finished creation on the runway.

Joan was there to see the result and was delighted to see something so meaningful from her past being enjoyed in an entirely new way.

It’s a beautiful example of what can happen when we look at something old and imagine what it could become next.

“I was so happy to see the dress being used again. It brought back lovely memories of our wedding day.”

Our Queensland homes have celebrating with all-things-fruit.

At Regis Wynnum, the Lifestyle Team set up a refreshing Hydration Trolley loaded with fruit skewers and tropical & mango punches!

At Regis Holland Park, residents, employees and visitors enjoyed a 'Fruit Friday' with fresh fruit smoothies and fruit skewers.

Resident Tiri said: “The fresh fruits were delicious, and it was lovely to try different flavours. It brought back happy memories of enjoying fresh fruit and juices with my family.”

Bob has been fascinated by opals since he was a teenager.

When he was younger, searching for them could take him as deep as 90 feet underground. These days, the way Bob searches has changed, but the excitement of discovering that next flash of colour hasn’t.

Over the decades, his passion has also become part of his family’s story, with treasured finds passed on to his children and grandchildren.

Regis Holland Park welcomed in the warmer weather in style last week with an Aussie BBQ complete with snags, burgers, prawn salad, and of course, a pavlova.

The BBQ was part of the monthly Chef's Table, an initiative that brings chefs and residents together to shape themed menus. Each Chef’s Table features a full menu, including main meals and desserts, tailored to the selected theme at each home.

Ian, who lives at the home, was particularly impressed by the BBQ's signature drink; a Great Northern B**r. He embraced the theme wholeheartedly, proudly wearing his Great Northern cap.

“The food looks fantastic, and nothing beats a typical Aussie BBQ!” he shared.
